While I can still report this....

The Missouri Division of Health and Senior Services has visited this site and read a previous post in which I cast them in questionable light. They have been calling me all day explaining why they have no intention of helping me. And now they are trying to hack my computer.

Really nice bunch of folks.

The Year in Hate
Number of Hate Groups Tops 900
By David Holthouse

year in hate

From white power skinheads decrying "President Obongo" at a racist gathering in rural Missouri, to neo-Nazis and Ku Klux Klansmen hurling epithets at Latino immigrants from courthouse steps in Oklahoma, to anti-Semitic black separatists calling for death to Jews on bustling street corners in several East Coast cities, hate group activity in the U.S. was disturbing and widespread throughout 2008, as the number of hate groups operating in America continued to rise. Last year, 926 hate groups were active in the U.S., up more than 4% from 888 in 2007. That's more than a 50% increase since 2000, when there were 602 groups.

As in recent years, hate groups were animated by the national immigration debate. But two new forces also drove them in 2008: the worsening recession, and Barack Obama's successful campaign to become the nation's first black president. Officials reported that Obama had received more threats than any other presidential candidate in memory, and several white supremacists were arrested for saying they would assassinate him or allegedly plotting to do so.

At the same time, law enforcement officials reported a marked swelling of the extreme-right "sovereign citizens" movement that wreaked havoc in the 1990s with its "paper terrorism" tactics. Adherents are infamous for filing bogus property liens and orchestrating elaborate financial ripoffs.

Somewhat surprisingly, it wasn't just the usual suspects from the white supremacist underworld who sought to exploit the country's economic turmoil and political strife. A key 2008 hate group trend was the increasing militancy of the extremist fringe of the Hebrew Israelite movement, whose adherents believe that Jews are creatures of the devil and that whites deserve death or slavery.

These radical black supremacists have no love for Barack Obama, calling him a "house nigger" and a puppet of Israel. They preach to inner-city blacks that evil Jews are solely responsible for the recession. The rhetoric of white-skinned hate group leaders in 2008 was equally alarming. Last September, for example the cover of National Socialist magazine depicted then-presidential nominee Barack Obama in the crosshairs of a scope, with the headline "Kill This Nigger?"

What follows is a detailed look at the three most active and dangerous white supremacist hate group sectors in 2008: Ku Klux Klan groups, neo-Nazis, and racist skinheads.

KU KLUX KLAN
Ku Klux Klan groups
Reversing a generally declining trend since 2000, Klan groups in the U.S. increased significantly in 2008, from 155 chapters to 186. Seventeen new chapters belong to the Brotherhood of Klans Knights of the Ku Klux Klan (BOK), which during the past five years has grown into the largest Klan organization in the country. In 2008, the Marion, Ohio-headquartered BOK launched a handful of chapters in Canada, linking up with the Aryan Guard, a fast-growing white nationalist group based in Alberta.

A smaller but likewise rapidly expanding Klan group, the United Northern and Southern Knights of the Ku Klux Klan, which in 2007 absorbed the National Aryan Knights, more than doubled its number of chapters and tripled its geographic reach last year, going from 11 chapters in eight states to 24 chapters in 24 states.

The continued rise of the United Northern and Southern Knights and the BOK paralleled the decline of the Imperial Klans of America (IKA). Since 2005, the IKA has shriveled from 39 chapters in 26 states to just six chapters in five states. Last year, it suffered a crippling blow when a Meade County, Ky., jury delivered a $2.5 million judgment against members of the IKA, including $1 million against IKA leader Ron Edwards, in a lawsuit brought by the Southern Poverty Law Center on behalf of a mixed-race teenager who was assaulted by IKA thugs in Kentucky.

Beyond the IKA trial, the biggest Klan story for the mainstream media in 2008 was the murder of a 43-year-old Tulsa, Okla., woman during a backwoods Klan initiation ritual near Bogalusa, La. According to law enforcement investigators, the victim was recruited over the Internet to join the Sons of Dixie, a tiny KKK faction led by Raymond "Chuck" Foster. Foster allegedly shot the woman in the head after she changed her mind about joining the Klan.

Blipping on the media's radar last December was the National Knights of the Ku Klux Klan, whose imperial wizard, Ray Larsen, called for all Klansmen "worldwide" to wear black armbands and fly the American flag upside down on Jan. 20, the day of Barack Obama's inauguration.

NEO-NAZIS
Neo-Nazi groups
A slight drop in the number of neo-Nazi chapters last year from 207 to 194 was attributable largely to the dissolution of National Vanguard after its leader, Kevin Alfred Strom, was convicted in January 2008 on child pornography charges. (Strom was released last fall after serving prison time.)

Another major neo-Nazi leader, American National Socialist Workers Party "Commander" Bill White, also suffered legal troubles in 2008, culminating in his December indictment on several federal felony counts for posting death threats on his website or by making them by phone. Along with the threats, White often posted the home addresses of perceived enemies, ranging from Canadian human rights attorney Richard Warman (in an item subtly titled "Kill Richard Warman") to Miami Herald columnist Leonard Pitts to officials of the Southern Poverty Law Center.

When the seven-count federal indictment came down, White was already jailed in Chicago on separate charges. He was arrested last October and extradited from Roanoke, Va., where he owns apartments in black neighborhoods, to face a federal obstruction of justice charge for allegedly threatening the foreman of a Chicago jury that convicted neo-Nazi leader Matt Hale in 2004 of soliciting the murder of a federal judge. Still, despite White's legal and personal financial turmoil (he declared bankruptcy last June), the ANSWP grew last year from 30 chapters in 26 states to 35 chapters in 28 states, making it the second-largest neo-Nazi organization in the country, after the National Socialist Movement (NSM).

Apart from its usual literature dispersals, book burnings, swastika lightings, and its annual "Hated and Proud" hate rock festival, the NSM in 2008 targeted Latino immigrants with sizable "illegal invasion" protests in Washington, D.C., and Omaha, Neb. Subjected for years to movement ridicule for their brown-shirt uniforms, NSM national and state chapter leaders also voted at the group's National Congress last April to switch to "more militant looking" black BDUs (Battle Dress Uniforms). Even with the makeover, the NSM lost 30 chapters last year (it later added 26, for a net loss of six chapters) after leader Jeff Schoep abandoned his family and relocated NSM headquarters from Minneapolis to Detroit in January 2008, reportedly to move in with a new girlfriend of dubious Aryan purity.

Nevertheless, the NSM benefited from diminished competition as the formerly dominant National Alliance continued its long decline, shrinking to 11 chapters in nine states. Similarly, Aryan Nations, another one-time powerhouse, withered to 11 chapters in 10 states. White Revolution gained no ground, ending the year as it began with a dozen chapters.

Two upstart neo-Nazi groups emerged in 2008. The League of American Patriots, which held its inaugural meeting last March 29, appears to be comprised of former National Vanguard members. The second newcomer, Knights of the Nordic Order, was founded by "two former captains of the Aryan Brotherhood," a notorious white supremacist prison gang, according to its website.

RACIST SKINHEADS
Racist Skinhead groups
The total number of racist skinhead crews, driven by the addition of a couple of new organizations, rose from 90 in 2007 to 98 last year.

Relatively inactive in 2007, Hammerskin Nation, long a force to be reckoned with in the racist skinhead subculture, came back in a big way in 2008. The diminished tally of Hammerskins chapters (which dropped from 15 to 12) is misleading, as it represents the merging of smaller chapters and Hammerskin leaders weeding out weaker outfits, rather than a real drop in the organization's strength and membership. On the contrary, the Hammerskins last year stepped up recruiting while forging new bonds with other skinhead groups and hosting dozens of hate rock concerts, white power cookouts, Mixed Martial Arts prizefight viewing parties and other widely promoted events.

The Confederate Hammerskins (CHS), the organization's southeastern regional division, kept particularly busy, beginning last March with a St. Patty's Day concert in Central Florida that was heavily attended by skins from across the country. Represented crews included Volksfront, Blood & Honour American Division, Atlantic City Skins, Troops of Tomorrow, and The Hated. Members of the Outlaws Motorcycle Club, a notorious biker gang, also attended.

A close Hammerskins ally, the Portland, Ore.-based Volksfront, held its first annual "Althing" gathering last Aug. 29-Sept. 1 on private land purchased by Volksfront in rural Missouri, about an hour's drive north of St. Louis. Part three-day hate rock blowout, part skinhead summit, the Althing was held in the "Samuel Weaver Memorial Hall," named after white supremacist Randy Weaver's son, who was killed by federal agents during the infamous Ruby Ridge standoff in 1992 (Weaver's wife and a U.S. marshal were also killed). Among the white supremacist leaders who attended was veteran skinhead organizer David Lynch, leader of the resurgent Sacramento, Calif.-based crew American Front.

Last December, more than 100 skinheads from at least five states gathered in Florida for a "Martyr's Day" party, co-sponsored by CHS, Volksfront and American Front, that featured a keynote address phoned in from prison by Richard Kemp, a member of the white supremacist terrorist group The Order. Martyr's Day commemorates the 1984 death of Order founder Bob Mathews, who died in a shootout with the FBI.

Another noteworthy development in the skinhead sector was the severe weakening of the Vinlanders Social Club (VSC), a skinhead coalition that began in 2003 and grew to become Hammerskin Nation's primary rival. Plagued by infighting, criminal prosecutions and desertions, the Vinlanders made no public appearances in 2008, limiting their activities to private beer bashes. Three inner-circle Vinlanders, including co-founder Eric "The Butcher" Fairburn, were convicted last year of a March 2007 racially motivated attack on a homeless black man in downtown Indianapolis. At his sentencing hearing last August, Fairburn publicly renounced the skinhead movement.

Formerly aligned with the VSC, the Keystone State Skinheads (KSS) distanced their group from the Vinlanders, changed their name to Keystone United and recast themselves as media-friendly "pro-white" activists. Keystone mouthpiece Keith Carney denounced hooliganism in several newspaper and television interviews. Last October, the group held a "Leif Ericson Day Celebration," honoring the Viking explorer, in a Philadelphia public park on the banks of the Schuylkill River. In contrast to the screaming hate rock performed by Absolute Terror and Total War at the annual Keystone-sponsored "Uprise" concert in January 2008, which was held in a secret location, Celtic folk musicians provided entertainment at the two-faced crew's "family-friendly" event.

In contrast to KSS, the United Society of Aryan Skinheads (USAS) made no effort to revamp its image in 2008. Formed in recent years inside California's state prison system, the USAS continues to espouse white-power skinhead ideology and grow into a strong presence throughout Southern California as members are paroled. The USAS went from a single chapter in 2007 to nine chapters in 2008, including three separate crews in San Diego, the group's base of operations in the outside world. Though populated almost entirely by ex-cons, the USAS, unlike most prison-based white supremacists, actually maintains a powerful racist identity and rarely compromises principles in favor of criminal profits.

One major new racist skinhead group surfaced in 2008: the Supreme White Alliance, or SWA. Co-founded by Kentucky skinhead Steven Edwards, son of Imperial Klans of America leader Ron Edwards, the SWA by year's end boasted eight chapters in as many states, an active website and a substantial online presence on MySpace as well as on the white nationalist social networking site New Saxon. The group's vice president is former IKA member Jarred Hensley, who served more than a year for his role in the hate crime assault that led to the SPLC lawsuit. "Out of prison and back on the streets," Hensley posted on MySpace last July upon his release. "It's gr88 to be a Skinhead!" Last October, former SWA probate Daniel Cowart was arrested in Tennesee with another skinhead he met online for allegedly plotting to assassinate Barack Obama after killing 88 black students (88 is neo-Nazi code for the phrase "Heil Hitler"). The SWA claimed that Cowart had been kicked out prior to hatching the plan.

Missouri Division of Health and Senior Services

OK, OK, already! I get it! I may be a bit slow, but I get it! My problem is that I used to work for them and I thought that our mission was to help any and all who need help regardless of disability, race, gender, sexual orientation, religious or political affiliations. But then, that was before the Bush era (error).

The simple fact is that I have AIDS and the people of this community simply do not want me to be here. So, they are not going to offer me any assistance of any kind, even if it is the same type of assistance that would be afforded any other similarly situated individual... so long as they don't have AIDS!

Missouri, especially rural Missouri, is the most bigoted and backward thinking people of any that I have encountered in my travels, And I have traveled half way around the world and back. But Missouri and (to be fair) Arkansas are the most fascist individuals I have ever had the displeasure to encounter anywhere. (And I can't say that I am too fond of North Carolina!)
And from what I have seen of the governor of Alaska, I have to wonder what kind of fascists that they are breeding and teaching up there.

But I was born in and live in Missouri. And I am ashamed to be from here. And I am sick to my soul of having to deal with the fucking morons.

I hope that if someone targets the US for a nuclear strike that they point at Missouri first, if for no other reason than to put me out of my pain.

What dumb fucks.

Acronym AIG

All Ill gotten Gain... wait, that would be AIGG. Fuck it. It still works for me!

Terminal Health care-Part 2: The Veterans Administration

I intend to make this a brief summary of a very long nightmare.

After years of the St. Louis Veterans Administration ignoring my health concerns and connfidential information breaches I began to have chest pains emanating down both arms. They simply ignored my concerns and sent me to their mind police: psychology department.

After a year of this I finally contacted Representative Jo Ann Emerson, my representative. She has a record of defending veterans rights. At her urging, the Poplar Bluff, MO VA decided to submit me to a stress test in which they discovered that I was in imminent danger of cardiac arrest. I was not just real excited about the prospect of letting the same people who let me get to this condition cut me open. So, I requested and got a transfer to the Memphis VA.

They bypassed all protocols of admitting new patients and rushed me straight to their cardiac department and scheduled me for triple bypass surgery. This occurred in five days and I was operated on and discharged within three days. A hospital record for both.

When they called me back to see a primary care physician, as we were going over my out of control cholesterol and triglycerides, my sky high blood sugar levels, and the plethora of other ailments with which I was suffering, without adjusting a single med she looked at me and said, "You are too young to have all of this wrong with you. I want you to see a psychiatrist." I nearly fell out of my chair.

Lab reports do not lie. I know that medical professionals are trained to believe that the patient ALWAYS lies. But blood work doesn't lie.

After a couple of psych visits in which I was not granted an audience with a psych, therapist, nor any other professional and in which all I was exposed to was classes on Buddhist practice and thought which was disguised in Christian trappings, I decided that these classes were only to have seats filled for funding purposes. I was there for help. Not to help them earn funding.

So, I quit them. I decided that I might have just as much luck with Medicaid (the bottom of the line medical insurance offered by the government). I set out to find a Medicaid doctor. That turned out to be a search that would best be served by a posting of its very own.

The primary message in this post is that the Veterans Administration could care less about any of its patients. It is touted as the closest thing to socialized medicine that we have here in the United States. I would put good money on THAT being the reason that so many people are deathly afraid of socialized medicine here. But the VA is anything BUT socialized medicine. It is institutionalized medicine whose only concern is the bottom dollar that it can spend to treat the most patients.

Stay tuned for part 2- Medicaid-almost medicine for almost people

Speculation on WHY Shooting sprees occur begin

Apparently, someone besides myself is beginning to try to connect the dots and come to some pretty telling conclusions as to why seemingly normal people are simply snapping and going on shooting sprees killing "innocent" community members and family members the same. And it seems that I called it a long time ago: Society (that's you) pretty much sucks.

As with so many of these rage massacres from the past 20 years, the more you look at Tuesdays' killing spree, the more you see that the system we've been living under since Reaganomics conquered everything has created all kinds of monsters and maniacs, from the plutocrats who've plundered this country for three decades straight, down to the lone broken worker -- McLendon -- who took up arms in a desperate suicide mission against the beast that crushed him.

So far we've learned that McLendon's hit list names the three companies he had worked for since 2003 -- Reliance Metals, which makes construction materials; Pilgrim's Pride, the nation's number one poultry producer, where his mother also worked, until she was suspended from her job last week; and Kelley Foods, a smaller family-owned meat-processing company from which McLendon apparently quit just last week.

Even more striking to someone who has studied these workplace massacres, it appears that McLendon was bullied and abused at work. One clue as to why he'd end his spree at Reliance, where he hadn't worked since 2003, could be that he was trying to kill the source of the pain: workers at Reliance used to taunt him incessantly, giving him the nickname "Doughboy." Which basically means "fatso" and "faggot" combined: McLendon was 5 feet, 8 inches tall, but he weighed roughly 210 pounds.

Maybe it's just a coincidence, but "Doughboy" is the exact same nickname that workers at Standard Gravure, a printing plant in Louisville, Ky., gave to a guy named Joe Wesbecker back in the 1980s.

Like McLendon's case against Pilgrim's Pride, Wesbecker also was locked in an ongoing labor dispute with his company, whose top shareholders had gone on an eight-year plundering spree, leaving little for the workers; the government backed Wesbecker's case against Standard Gravure, and he "won" his dispute, but it was irrelevant.

By 1989, the culture had changed, all power went to the CEOs and major shareholders. Standard Gravure's senior executives ignored the arbitration rulings and continued to treat Wesbecker however they felt, slashing his pay under a different pretense, which would require a whole new round of arbitrations.

Joe "Doughboy" Wesbecker finally cracked: on Sept. 14, 1989, he unleashed America's first private workplace massacre, pitting aggrieved

worker against vampiric company, borrowing from the numerous post office shootings that had erupted a few years earlier. The result: seven killed, 20 wounded, and the death of the company that drove him to the brink. And an unending string of workplace massacres by "disgruntled employees" ever since.

Next time any asshole calls a kid or a co-worker "Doughboy," put the bully and the bullied on the top of your next Ghoul Pool list. Bullying in the workplace, like bullying in the schoolyard, is only now being recognized as a serious problem, with devastating psychological consequences -- and the occasional rampage massacre.

Conventional wisdom used to say that victims of bullying should "deal with it" since it was "just the way things are"; nowadays, after all the workplace and school shootings, anti-bullying laws and codes are becoming increasingly common.

So, when you start wondering why people are going nuts and killing you and your neighbors for "no apparent reason" and you are seeking the reason, just look in the nearest mirror, dumb fuck. It happens because we collectively treat everyone we come into contact with like shit.

I have news for you: YOU ARE NOT SUPERIOR IN ANY WAY. YOU ARE AN EXPENDABLE PIECE OF SHIT JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE. AND YOU NEED BADLY TO STOP LYING TO YOURSELF ABOUT IT.

Think about the Golden Rule... better yet, FUCKING PRACTICE THE GOLDEN RULE! And get down off of you fucking high horse. Pay attention to the wants, needs, and concerns of the other people in the world with you. They are all very much just as valid as your own.

Ancient Hindi's knew our Bush World

As the earth fares under a rainless sky,
So do a people languish under an unkind king.

Possessions are less pleasant than poverty
To the oppressed living under an unjust king.

If the king acts contrary to justice, contrary seasons will befall
And rain-laden clouds will not come forth.

If the people's protector fails to protect,
Priests will forget the Vedas and cows' milk will dry up.

Hunter safety instructor removed after ordering 'liberals' from class

Here is one for the record books!

by: RANDY KREHBIEL World staff writer
[Tulsa, Oklahoma]

Friday, March 6, 2009

Thirteen-year- old Lane Dunkley just wanted to go hunting with his grandfather.

What he got was a lecture on politics.

Dunkley and his father Daniel Reddy, who live in Tulsa, went to Broken Arrow Tuesday night for a hunter safety course normally required to get an Oklahoma hunting license.

The class was a reward of sorts. Dunkley, who wants to go hunting with his aging grandfather, was told he could only if he brought his grades up.

So he did-- to a B-plus average.

But when father and son arrived at the lesson, the volunteer instructor, Kell Wolf, asked if any of the students voted for President Obama.

Reddy, a transplanted Californian - and ex-Marine - raised his hand.

According to Reddy and others in the room, Wolf called Obama “the next thing to the Anti-Christ” and ordered Reddy and Dunkley from the room. When Reddy refused, Wolf said he would not teach “liberals” and would cancel the course if Reddy didn’t leave.

So Reddy and Dunkley left, as did a few others.

Lance Meek, hunter education coordinator for the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation, said Wolf had been a volunteer instructor for “a long time, probably 15 years or more” and “from what we’ve heard and observed, had always done a great job. He worked with the kids really well.”

But when Meek received a call Wednesday morning - from someone other than the Reddys - he said he had no choice.

“I got the call at 8:30, and by 9 o’clock (Wolf) was no longer a volunteer for us," Meek said.

Contacted Friday, Wolf had no comment on the matter. Meek said when he talked briefly to Wolf on Wednesday, Wolf did not deny ordering Reddy from the class or offer an explanation.

Stacy Reddy, Daniel Reddy’s wife and Lane Dunkley’s mother, said the family was surprised by how quickly the Wildlife Department acted.

“Lance Meek called and apologized up and down and wanted to know what they could do to make it right,” she said. “The only thing we really wanted was for my son to be able to take the hunter safety course, and there wasn’t another one in the Tulsa area with an opening for the rest of 2009.”

So Meek arranged for a private class.

This, my friends, is the face of the enemy within. The fact that the man is a Marine (for Christ's sake!) makes absolutely no difference to these fascist monsters that populate and propagate among us.

I have but one question: Why does this "man" (and I use this term in its broadest possible sense), Wolf (in sheep's clothing), merely lose his 'volunteer' job for attempting to deny another American their constitutional right and legally mandated course for exercising said constitutional right? I mean, shouldn't he be punished punitively?

Fuck!

'One dead' in US church shooting

Map

One person has been killed and others injured in a shooting at a church in the US state of Illinois, according to local media reports.

The St Louis Post-Dispatch said the shooting happened at the First Baptist Church in Maryville, about 20 miles (30km) from St Louis, in Missouri.

The paper quoted officials saying the man killed was the church's pastor.

The suspected attacker is said to be in custody and receiving treatment for self-inflicted stab wounds.

He reportedly walked into the church during a Sunday morning service and shot Pastor Fred Winters.

The Post-Dispatch said Mr Winters died in hospital of a gunshot wound to the chest.

It remains unclear how many people in the church were injured.

Ok, Ok already! I know that I am pretty hyper critical of the negative effect that Christianity and its twisted, perverted, contradictory teachings and practices has on society and those very few of us who are even remotely left semi-sane. But this is going a bit too far!

I have never and don't advocate the use of violence on anyone simply because they are Christian, or at least claim to be though their actions may suggest otherwise. In fact, I don't advocate the use of violence at any time for any reason. Though, I understand if one uses violence to protect oneself from violence being visited upon oneself from another. Even then, it is just bad karma.

But when one see's news stories like the one posted (and linked to) above, when one considers the Jihad that Islamic extremists are conducting against "the Christian World or 'those blue eyed devils'", and even the name of this blog (not to give myself any credit for people kinda hating the double standards expressed by the practice of the perverted 'modern Christianity'), one really must stop and wonder... what the fuck are you Christians doing that is earning you all of this obvious disfavor?

I'm just sayin'...

Can ya give us a hint?

To execute or not?

So, ya really dig the "eye for an eye" philosophy of Christianity when Jesus actually taught to "turn the other cheek"? Well, if ya can't get it that killing is wrong, even to kill killers, no matter how you slice the cake, perhaps you can get it that it is too financially strenuous, especially in these financially straining times.

Check out this article at MSNBC: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/29552692/

"It's 10 times more expensive to kill them than to keep them alive," though most Americans believe the opposite, said Donald McCartin, a former California jurist known as "The Hanging Judge of Orange County" for sending nine men to death row.

The article is pretty cool. It has an interactive map with which you can hover your mouse over any given state and learn how many inmates have been killed in the name of justice since 1976. Texas has killed over 400 people!

And to make matters even worse,

The most recent arguments against it centered on the ever-increasing number of convicts cleared by DNA evidence.

Some of the worst cases occurred in Illinois. In 2000, then-Gov. George H. Ryan placed a moratorium on executions after 13 people had been exonerated from death row for reasons including genetic testing and recanted testimony. Ryan declared the system "so fraught with error that it has come close to the ultimate nightmare, the state's taking of innocent life."

He commuted the sentences of all 167 death row convicts, most to life imprisonment without parole. His moratorium is still in effect.

Across the country, the number of prisoners exonerated and released from death row is more than 130, with thousands of appeals clogging the courts. (emphasis mine).

Death penalty trials are more expensive for several reasons: They often require extra lawyers; there are strict experience requirements for attorneys, leading to lengthy appellate waits while capable counsel is sought for the accused; security costs are higher, as well as costs for processing evidence — DNA testing, for example, is far more expensive than simple blood analyses.

What ever happened to the "moral value" that it is better to let 100 guilty go free than to punish one innocent? And if you imprison an innocent, the best you can do is say, "Ooops, sorry about ruining your life." But you can't take a killing back!

Drill, baby drill!

Kill, baby kill!

You people really confuse me.

A word about postal service hikes and their acting as real estate agents

The price of a stamp to send one letter anywhere in the U.S. was almost fifty cents before the United States Post Office ever even offered to deliver mail to my home in spite of years of repeated requests. That kinda pissed me off a little, but then I live in a rural area... right in the MIDDLE OF THE UNITED STATES, just 45 miles from the Mississippi River. I also live a mile and a half, at most, from two different post offices!

Now, they are talking about raising the price of stamps yet again while considering requesting bail out money from the government, or our tax dollars. And then we find out that they are buying out their employee's homes so that the can VOLUNTARILY relocate to another job. This allows the postal employee, who owns a home worth ONE MILLION DOLLARS, the ability to move to another position without worrying about the failing housing market costing him/her a single dime!

Now, in the first place, the post office has never done me any tremendous favors, unless I count the fact that they finally started delivering my mail within the past two years to a home that has been here since 1934! And while I realize that most postal workers do not make a lot of money, I AM INCENSED THAT ANY OF THEM MAKE ENOUGH TO AFFORD A ONE MILLION DOLLAR HOME! I am further annoyed that THE TAX PAYER IS BEING ASKED TO INSURE THE SALE OF SAID HOME SO THE PRICK CAN GET A HIGHER PAYING JOB!

I say: FUCK THEM! FUCK THE POST OFFICE! FUCK THE BANKS WHO GOT US HERE IN THE FIRST PLACE! AND ESPECIALLY FUCK THE LEGISLATORS WHO ALLOWED ALL OF THIS LARGESS TO FALL BACK TO THE PEOPLE!

Let them all fall. I am not hoping Barak Obama fails. I am hoping that CAPITALISM fails, and fails miserably. I know that we will all pay for the failure in the end. But I pay my part each and every fucking day. It is time that some of you other pricks start paying your part, too!

Global Economic Crash now affecting all sectors of economy... even Piracy!

Economist noted that one can now ship a container from China to Europe for free -- you only need to pick up the fuel and handling costs -- but half-empty freighters are the norm along the world's busiest shipping routes.

http://www.alternet.org/story/128412/

I feel that it is safe to deduce from this statement that even High Seas Piracy is feeling the effect of the Global Market Crunch. They said they were going after the Pirates! But this is a bit extreme.

Anti-Social Personality Disorder from the perspective of an anti-social personality

I have been labeled "Anti-social Personality Disorder". Though, those who labeled me as such offered little, if any, information concerning the causes or treatment for this condition. (And that would be the Veterans Administration, or our government). So, it was left to me to interpret and assimilate the information that I could obtain through my own effort and with my own understanding.

I have cobbled together some clippings from around the web, added emphasis to certain assertions and interspersed my own commentary throughout. It shouldn't be too difficult to discern my own comments from the actual texts.

I have not given credit to the sources of this material because I do not have permission to reproduce their material. Why? Well, that's apparently what anti-social personalities do (as you will see in the following collection of web clippings). We have boundary issues. But I have a "teacher" who told me once that "information wants to be free". I kinda like that notion. Obviously, our keepers do not appreciate that philosophy.

So, on with the show...

Causes of personality disorder
Like other psychiatric illnesses, it is thought that personality disorders are caused by a number of factors. These include parental upbringing in childhood, personality, social development as well as genetic and biological factors.

Psychological causes
There is a body of research which shows that the vast majority of patients with personality disorders were abused as children. 75% of people diagnosed with borderline personality disorder have experienced physical or sexual abuse. Abuse can come in the form of physical, sexual or just not being parented properly.

Childhood is the time to learn to cope and manage intense emotional changes and this is one of the most important goals of parenthood. Children who are abused often do not learn these lessons, thus they are more likely to have difficulty regulating their emotions as adults.

What Causes Antisocial Personality Disorder?

The cause of antisocial personality disorder, or ASP, is unknown. Like many mental health issues, evidence points to inherited traits. But dysfunctional family life also increases the likelihood of ASP. So although ASP may have a hereditary basis, environmental factors contribute to its development.

The Theories

Researchers have their own ideas about ASP’s cause. One theory suggests that abnormalities in development of the nervous system may cause ASP. Abnormalities that suggest abnormal nervous system development include learning disorders, persistent bedwetting and hyperactivity.

A recent study showed that if mothers smoked during pregnancy, their offspring were at risk of developing antisocial behavior. This suggests that smoking brought about lowered oxygen levels with may have resulted in subtle brain injury to the fetus.

Yet another theory suggests that people with ASP require greater sensory input for normal brain function. Evidence that antisocials have low resting pulse rates and low skin conductance, and show decreased amplitude on certain brain measures supports this theory. Individuals with chronically low arousal may seek out potentially dangerous or risky situations to raise their arousal to more optimal levels to satisfy their craving for excitement.

Brain imaging studies have also suggested that abnormal brain function is a cause of antisocial behavior. Likewise, the neurotransmitter serotonin has been linked with impulsive and aggressive behavior. Both the temporal lobes and the prefrontal cortex help regulate mood and behavior. It could be that impulsive or poorly controlled behavior stems from a functional abnormality in serotonin levels or in these brain regions.

The Environment

Social and home environment also contributes to the development of antisocial behavior. Parents of troubled children frequently show a high level of antisocial behavior themselves. In one large study, the parents of delinquent boys were more often alcoholic or criminal, and their homes were frequently disrupted by divorce, separation or the absence of a parent.

In the case of foster care and adoption, depriving a young child of a significant emotional bond could damage his ability to form intimate and trusting relationships, which may explain why some adopted children are prone to develop ASP. As young children, they may be more likely to move from one caregiver to another before a final adoption, thereby failing to develop appropriate or sustaining emotional attachments to adult figures.

Erratic or inappropriate discipline and inadequate supervision have been linked to antisocial behavior in children. Involved parents tend to monitor their child’s behavior, setting rules and seeing that they are obeyed, checking on the child’s whereabouts, and steering them away from troubled playmates. Good supervision is less likely in broken homes because parents may not be available, and antisocial parents often lack the motivation to keep an eye on their children. The importance of parental supervision is also underscored when antisocials grow up in large families where each child gets proportionately less attention.

A child who grows up in a disturbed home may enter the adult world emotionally injured. Without having developed strong bonds, he is self-absorbed and indifferent to others. The lack of consistent discipline results in little regard for rules and delayed gratification. He lacks appropriate role models and learns to use aggression to solve disputes. He fails to develop empathy and concern for those around him.

Antisocial children tend to choose similar children as playmates. This association pattern usually develops during the elementary school years, when peer group acceptance and the need to belong first become important. Aggressive children are the most likely to be rejected by their peers, and this rejection drives social outcasts to form bonds with one another. These relationships can encourage and reward aggression and other antisocial behavior. These associations may later lead to gang membership.

Child abuse also has been linked with antisocial behavior. People with ASP are more likely than others to have been abused as children. This is not surprising since many of them grow up with neglectful and sometimes violent antisocial parents. In many cases, abuse becomes a learned behavior that formerly abused adults perpetuate with their own children.

It has been argued that early abuse (such as vigorously shaking a child) is particularly harmful, because it can result in brain injury. Traumatic events can disrupt normal development of the central nervous system, a process that continues through the adolescent years. By triggering a release of hormones and other brain chemicals, stressful events could alter the pattern of normal development.

It is also suggested that feelings of real or perceived injustice by society in general have a profound impact on the development of Anti-Social Personality Disorder.

However, many resources for people regarding how to deal with people who have or may have this condition suggests that one should run like hell and avoid the subject at any and all costs! Just google it and find out for yourself.

How to Treat Antisocial Personality Disorder

An antisocial personality disorder is marked by behavior that seeks to challenge or violate the norms of society, especially by showing disrespect for the rights and privacy of others. (Even though society shows us all time and again that society itself is disrespectful of the rights and privacy of others. Society itself may indeed be the worst violator of all in this respect!) In fact, individuals with this affliction are often perceived as criminals, and may not receive proper treatment as a result. (Just label, brand, medicate and incarcerate them!) Through a specialized program of individualized psychotherapy and group therapy, you can effectively treat an antisocial personality disorder. (We just collectively reinforce the notion that these people should not and cannot be trusted and should be shunned and disregarded, if not incarcerated and forgotten.)

Instructions for treatment
Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Things You’ll Need:

* Prescription medication
* Psychiatrist or psychologist
(And a stun gun!)

Step1
Determine if the more common symptoms of an antisocial personality disorder are present. These may include a lack of remorse for hurting the feelings or violating the rights of others, excessive patterns of irritability, recklessness, lying, deceitfulness and willingness to challenge and violate the norms of society on a regular basis. (As if the norms of society do not need to be challenged by anyone, ever!)
Step2
Obtain a proper diagnosis of an antisocial personality disorder from a qualified mental health professional, such as a psychiatrist or psychologist. Note that a diagnosis of an antisocial personality disorder may be more difficult than with other types of personality disorders, since the patient is seldom cooperative during the process and is also usually dishonest. (As if the medical community and society are always honest... yeah, right! So, if you don't get the diagnosis you are looking for, "Damaged Goods", just keep trying. You will find a fascist with the proper credentials who is ready, willing and able to provide you with the diagnosis you seek.)
Step3
Treat an antisocial personality disorder through the use of individualized psychotherapy in order to determine the causes of the disorder. Often a person who is diagnosed with an antisocial personality disorder is forced to do so under the aegis of a court or doctor, and will probably be very uncooperative at first. Motivating the individual by emphasizing the positive results they can obtain by being cooperative is usually the best strategy for the therapy. (This is also where one may find the stun gun useful!)
Step4
Consider using prescription medication to treat an antisocial personality disorder. (The stronger and more dangerous the medication, the better!) While there is no evidence to support that drug therapy can cure the disorder, it may be helpful to reduce or eliminate the mood swings that usually accompany more serious cases. (And to weaken the mind enough to make it more susceptible to mind control and reprogramming and reeducation.)
Step5
Use group therapy to treat an antisocial personality disorder. Take care to only include others that have the same types of personality disorder to reduce the chance of aggressive or even violent confrontations. Conversely, it is important to restrict the discussions so that criminal behaviors are not reinforced by the exchange of inappropriate information between members of the group.

Understanding borderline personality disorder

'I wish I had never been diagnosed with BPD. With another diagnosis yet similar behaviour I was treated so differently. Possibly the most painful part of this illness (I will call it that) is the discrimination. And the only reason for this is the diagnosis, not the way I feel, behave or speak, because that was the same before.'

Borderline personality disorder (BPD) is a controversial diagnosis. This information aims to help people to understand when the diagnosis might be given and its consequences.

What is borderline personality disorder?

BPD is one of many personality disorders listed in the manuals used by clinicians when they are giving someone a psychiatric diagnosis. The word 'personality' refers to the ongoing pattern of thoughts, feelings and behaviour that makes us who we are.

A personality disorder may be diagnosed when it's felt that several areas of someone's personality are causing them or others problems in everyday life. This diagnosis is very controversial, because it implies that someone's whole personality is flawed - rather than just one aspect of them. Some psychiatrists argue that it's impossible to treat someone's personality and that it's wrong to apply medical terms and treatments to a personality. This means it's usually the symptoms of BPD that are treated, rather than the disorder as a whole.

BPD is sometimes referred to as Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder. Some argue that the term 'borderline' is misleading. Originally, the term was applied to people who seemed to be on the border of being given a diagnosis of schizophrenia. However, now BPD is seen as distinct from schizophrenia diagnoses, the 'borderline' aspect is seen to express being on the border of psychosis. If someone has a psychosis, it means they have beliefs or experiences not shared by others. Those diagnosed with BPD may have these at times of stress.

BPD is thought to affect about two per cent of the general population. It’s been estimated that three-quarters of those given this diagnosis are women. It's a condition that isn't usually diagnosed until adulthood, because the personality is seen as still developing until then.

Because of the controversy surrounding this diagnosis, services are often not readily available.

How would a clinician make this diagnosis?

There are no biochemical or physical tests to tell whether someone does or doesn't have BPD. (In other words, it is much like the terms, "nigger, cracker, honky, spic, wasp, poor white trash, or asshole", just to name a few stereotypes ). The UK and Europe use slightly different criteria and ‘number of symptoms present’ to diagnose BPD, compared to the USA. But on the whole, if five or six of the symptoms below are present for a year or more, the diagnosis of BPD is given. Note: anyone can experience any of these symptoms occasionally, but with BPD the experience is much more intense and prolonged. (It may be pertinent here that the 'victim' of this stereotype could simply be hyper-aware of the injustice of "societal norms".)

* Self-harm (for example, cutting yourself) or repeated attempts or expressions of the desire to commit suicide. This behaviour can only be counted as one of the criteria for diagnosis; it can't be counted again as demonstrating any of the other symptoms.
* Frantic efforts to avoid being alone, due to an intense fear of being abandoned. Others may not see this fear as justified, but you may go to great lengths to avoid being alone. For example, you may say that you will harm someone if they leave. (Or, perhaps, the inverse: attempting at all costs to be left the fuck alone.)
* A pattern of unstable and intense relationships. Feelings often alternating between idolising the other person and then thinking they are really awful. (Or, perhaps simply viewing most everyone as hypocritical, maniacal, deceptive, injurious pricks.)
* A very uncertain, shaky self-image or sense of self. You may feel good whilst you feel loved by someone you think is wonderful. If you later see them as bad, your own sense of self could be affected. You may also have doubts about your sexual identity. (Or, perhaps you have simply come to the realization that few, if any, truly know what love and compassion is and therefor have no confidence in your own ability to do so as there are no 'teachers' from which to learn healthy relationships from!)
* Two or more areas of your life where your behaviour could cause you harm and be seen as impulsive. Examples would be: spending money extravagantly and having huge debts, having unprotected sex, abusing drugs or alcohol, driving without due care, or binge-eating. You may do these things because you're trying to deal with awful feelings of pain or emptiness.
* You may have moods that are very difficult to come out of. For example, you may go through long periods (usually lasting a few hours...or a few years ) of extreme irritability, restlessness, unhappiness or anxiety.
* Terrible feelings of emptiness. (...realizing that society itself is quite empty...)
* Anger that's inappropriate, intense or difficult to control. You may lose your temper a great deal, experience constant anger or be involved in physical fights. You may feel particularly angry when you think you're being criticized. Anger is often a very difficult feeling for people to acknowledge and deal with, but may cause particular problems in the life of someone diagnosed with BPD.

Periods of paranoia or feeling unreal when under (constantly socially imposed) stress. This might be accompanied by an almost complete lack of physical sensation. At difficult times, you may experience yourself as having more than one personality or feel you are in a trance-like state. (Or, you may just feel like another turd floating in a cesspool).

As a result of confusion about your personal identity and a terror of being left alone (or not) , you may find yourself clinging to very damaging relationships (or taking pot shots at the fucks who won't leave you alone) . Many people who meet the criteria for BPD also meet the criteria for histrionic, narcissistic or antisocial personality disorder. (I guess that is a fancy way of saying that I feel like, as obviously damaged as I may be, I am the only one who seems to see how fucked up everyone is....)

Unfortunately, those diagnosed with BPD have a greater risk of committing suicide than the general population. Most studies suggest between eight and ten per cent of those diagnosed with BPD commit suicide. If you are diagnosed with BPD, it's important to know where to turn to if you are feeling suicidal.

Whilst some people may see themselves in the symptoms of BPD and feel relieved to have a label (numb nutted fucks) to apply to the problems they experience, others may be devastated at the idea that their personality is disordered. It's worth remembering that aspects of almost any type of personality can be found within the pages of the diagnostic manuals. What matters is that you get the help you feel you need.

What if they've made a mistake in my diagnosis?

Strictly speaking, a medical diagnosis can only be given by somebody who has been medically trained - usually a GP or psychiatrist. However, because the term 'borderline' comes from psychoanalytic thinking, you may have this term applied to you by someone who has not been medically trained. There is a recognised and very worrying danger of mistaken diagnosis. Mental health professionals sometimes fall into the trap of applying it to people they have difficulties dealing with, perhaps because of a conflict of personalities. Within the NHS, you are entitled to ask for a second opinion, although this doesn't necessarily mean that your request will be granted.

If you feel your GP or psychiatrist has misunderstood you, and you are having problems getting the help you need, you may find an advocate useful. (But then, who advocates for sociopaths?)

Will I get better?

It's often thought that personality problems are too deep-seated to be treatable. But this is contradicted by evidence that symptoms may get better as people get older. Some research suggests that after 10 to 15 years, or so, between 50 to 75 per cent of those diagnosed with BPD no longer display enough of the symptoms to meet the criteria for the diagnosis.

Recent research suggests that talking treatments and medication can reduce the behaviour problems associated with the problem. Day-care programmes may also be useful. (The idea that society itself is screwed up from the ground up never ever enters into the equation.)

What causes borderline personality disorder?

The causes of BPD are still not clear and research is still continuing.

Often, those diagnosed with BPD turn out to have had very traumatic experiences in childhood. You may have experienced the early loss of a parent, or be a survivor of childhood sexual or physical abuse . You may have been neglected as a child. Such difficult life events are very common in those diagnosed with BPD. The problems associated with BPD may become much worse following a stressful experience, for example, the loss of a loved one or an established routine, such as a job. (And here you have it, folks! The vague admission that society itself and the treatment inflicted upon the subject is actually responsible for the condition!)

An American psychiatrist, Dr Leland Heller, believes that BPD is a 'neurological illness', probably a form of epilepsy, and that it can be managed with appropriate medication and talking treatments.

There is a school of thought that suggests that some people may be genetically predisposed towards BPD, and that if those people are exposed to negative nurturing in childhood, they are more likely to develop symptoms.

What sort of treatment can I get?

Talking treatments (Reprogramming and Reeducation)
Psychotherapy is a relatively long-term talking treatment that aims to find the roots of present feelings and behaviour in your childhood. The relationship you have with the therapist is seen as an important reflection of your past and present relationships. Exploring this relationship can help to break unhelpful patterns of behaviour. The in-depth nature of psychotherapy can make it particularly appropriate for those diagnosed with BPD.

Some forms of counselling are quite similar to psychotherapy. Psychodynamic counselling, for example, places great emphasis on childhood experience.

Cognitive behaviour therapy is a more short-term treatment that aims to tackle practical, everyday difficulties with problem-solving techniques. It works towards identifying negative thinking patterns and replacing them with more positive ones.

New therapies have been developed which combine elements of cognitive therapy and psychotherapy. Dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) and cognitive analytical therapy (CAT), have been found to be particularly useful for people diagnosed with BPD.

People often have high expectations when they enter a talking treatment. It's worth bearing in mind that therapists aren't miracle-workers and that change can take time. If you find it painful to be separated from others, you might want to think about how you will manage breaks in the therapy early on. You could ask when the breaks will occur so that you can look at how you will cope beforehand. There may be times when you think your therapist is wonderful and times when you may hate him or her. It may help you to express these feelings, so that you can look at them together. If you are interested in pursuing a talking treatment, you could talk to your GP about seeing someone through the NHS, or getting treatment subsidised.

Therapeutic communities
The NHS runs some inpatient therapeutic communities that specialise in treating clients with personality disorders. In a therapeutic community, staff and residents share responsibility for tasks and decisions. If you decide to go to into a therapeutic community, you will need to be prepared to talk about your life with others before the group decides whether to give you a place. This can be hard, especially if it's the first time you have talked in front of a group in this way.

Once part of the community, you would be encouraged to talk about your feelings about others' behaviour in group discussions. (I rarely have difficulty in this area, myself. It is just that others find my feelings disturbing and unsettling. Usually, they feel this way because they have conflicts about admitting their own responsibilities regarding their participation in societal dysfunction!) This may seem difficult at first but it can be very beneficial. It may give you the opportunity to see how others react to you and what you say. You can then think about what you like and what you want to change about yourself. Some, but not all communities may offer you individual therapy and, possibly, medication. (Ah, the omnipotent potential of mind altering substances to modify perceptions regarding the shortcomings with the root of the problem: wrongs committed by family and society.)

Alternative therapies
There are a whole range of alternative therapies, which some people find useful, from acupuncture to yoga. (Finally, something that actually makes sense!)

What about medicationt? (The panacea o all of life's problems!)

Antidepressants
Research has found low levels of the chemical serotonin in people diagnosed with BPD who have committed impulsive acts of violence. Some of the antidepressants work to increase levels of serotonin.

Antipsychotics
Antipsychotics (also referred to as major tranquillisers) may be prescribed to help with feelings of unreality or paranoia. They should be prescribed with caution, as they can have distressing side effects, especially in long-term use.

What happens if I can't cope?

In response to demand from mental health service users, crisis services have been developed in some areas. In these services, the emphasis is on talking treatments and informal support. A crisis service may be somewhere safe to stay, or an out-of-hours telephone helpline. ("I called suicide prevention and they put me on hold", Rodney Dangerfield.)

Hospital
At times of great distress, you may feel you need to be somewhere safe. This could mean going into hospital. It can be upsetting to be around others who are in pain, however, and you may feel a lack of privacy and support. Service-user or patient groups based in the hospital can be useful and supportive.

Most admissions are voluntary. However, if you are regarded as a danger to yourself or to others, but you don't wish to go, you may be admitted compulsorily under the Mental Health Act 1983.

Guidelines on treatment
The National Institute for Mental Health in England (NIMHE) and the Department of Health (DoH) have recently issued guidelines with the aim of enabling people with a personality disorder to get appropriate clinical care and management from specialist mental health services. The guidelines, titled Personality disorder: no longer a diagnosis of exclusion, can be found on the Internet (it is best to type the title into your search engine, as the document appears in several places). NICE (The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence) will also be publishing clinical guidance on the treatment of BPD - due to be published by the end of 2008.

What should family and friends do?

It's important not to see someone purely in terms of their diagnosis. People with BPD can have very low self-esteem, and it can help them enormously if you can emphasise the positive parts of their personality.

It can be extremely difficult caring for someone with BPD. They may try very hard to control you, because they feel so out of control of themselves. There may be periods when they refuse to talk to you or when they rage at you. This can be very painful and may make you feel powerless.

You may find that the person panics and perhaps reacts very angrily when you want to leave or to go somewhere. They may beg you to stay, or hurl words of abuse. It can help if you focus on how they are feeling, rather than trying to argue them out of their fears.

(Or, as in my case, they may want you to stay the fuck away from them!)

Looking after yourself
It's very important to look after yourself and to remember that you need time to yourself, if you are to care for others. If you are experiencing problems - for example, if the person calls you many times a day at work - it's vital to set down some boundaries. It might be important to decide how often you will be available. This can be hard to stick to, especially if you are being threatened, and you may need to enlist other people's help. Offer to help draw up a list of numbers the person could call when they feel afraid.

A person diagnosed with BPD may feel that they have no control over their feelings; they may blame you for everything. (Even though, as we have seen above, society in general is a guilty for the condition as anyone else, namely the victim of the condition.) Make sure you have someone you can turn to, to help you look at what is happening and make sure you don't take the blame for absolutely everything. Nobody deserves to be abused. There are organisations that can help you talk about the situation and make decisions about what you're going to do. You may need support in the form of a self-help group or some kind of talking treatment.

In an emergency
If you feel that the person you care for is a serious danger to themselves or others, you might need to think about the last resort of compulsory admission to hospital. The 'nearest relative' as defined under the Mental Health Act 1983 can request a Mental Health Assessment from a social worker specially trained in mental health law. The social worker would decide, with the help of medical advice, what the treatment options should be and whether the person needs to be detained.(See, the victim of the original abuse becomes the victim of societal labeling, forced sedation and incarceration... for a condition which is the result of misdeeds of society in the first place!)

In spite of the generally accepted facts (as far as facts can be interpreted about a pseudo illness with no scientific test with which to diagnose it), that genetics and social dysfunction experienced by the victim are the primary triggers or instigators, it is the victim him or her self who bears the stigma, responsibility, and social ostracization that being assigned the label inevitably brings.

My point is simply this:
Perhaps some of us members of the "Tin Foil Hat" Society are not that terribly far off from the mark. If you have read this far into this diatribe, you may be interested in further reading. You could visit
http://members.iimetro.com.au/~hubbca/psychopolitics.htm
or
http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/7006/psychopolitics.html
(no affiliation) or simply google psychopolitics. The whole idea is not necessarily "communist" in nature, though fingers are pointed squarely at communism. I believe, however, that it is more of a totalitarian conspiracy. And if you wish to look for the roots to totalitarianism, one must inevitably consider fascism (in all it guises), the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, and, of course, capitalism (read in its broadest sense as "greed").

Free societies are not threatened by free thinking. And they generally embrace debate and differences of opinion. This, however, cannot be said of greed, and its many guises. As is the case with virtually all philosophies, religions, and forms of government, socialism and communism have been hijacked by greed for money and or power. And this comes back to the false premise that anyone is any more deserving of consideration and/or privilege that any other.

I am only aware of a handful of people to ever existed whom I might consider "special". And they generally shun that distinction. Any who believe that they are special are living in a fantasy world. Yet, I am a nut just the same.

So, if one reads any of my words and continues to wish to apply a stereotypical, judgmental, hypocritical, and discriminatory term with which they may feel more at ease while dismissing me, might I suggest that you take a good long look into the mirror. That inclination is merely your own insecurity and irresponsibility in perpetrating these fallacious, derogatory and highly suspect tendencies to deflect fault and to actively or passively participate in social injustice. And your joining in with this travesty will make me not one whit of difference, as you would merely be "jumping on the bandwagon". And as I am sure that your mother asked you, if everyone else jumped off a bridge, would you as well?

Recall the saying:
"When they came to get the Jews I said nothing, when they came to get the Pole,. when they came to get the homosexuals, the teachers, the intellectuals, the gypsies, I said nothing.
When they came to get me I realized, I was the only one left."

In other words, YOU are next on their list of "acceptable casualties" in their class war. Now, don't say you haven't been warned. Please return your head to the "sand hole" position now. Thank you.

The "Truth" begins to eek out

A full ten days after the weather crisis in mid america began, the local news services were still reporting the warm and fuzzy stories about how everyone was pulling together to get through this horrible event. But I knew things weren't as rosy as they were letting on. I knew it from word of mouth descriptions of people turning on one another, from family members who were robbed, and from my ever amazing faith in mankind (and self-described christians in particular) to turn on one another in times of uncertainty.

But as I finished a meal in a nearby diner just across the state line in Arkansas, I had the opportunity to ask someone who I felt would be "in the know" on such matters. As I waited to pay my bill and Arkansas State Trooper fell in line beside me to pay his own. I thought, "here is my chance". So, I asked him point blank: "Are the rumors that I've been hearing about violence and theft as low as the news would have us believe, or as serious as I myself suspect?" He replied quite frankly, "Probably worse than you suspect".

We continued to chat and banter and when I said that I was setting on top of my own place when I didn't have someone to man it for me he stated matter of factly, "Good. We thank you. And I hope that you are a good shot!" I was so taken aback, and being the untrained, wannabe news reporter that I am, I failed to get the officers name or badge number.

We wished each other luck, bid farewell and went on our ways.

Power companies and their crews are being forced to request armed protection as they attempt to re-establish the power grid. A local mayor who gave her own home electrical generator to their shelter had her car shot up (in Walnut Ridge, AR. Google it!) Police stations are forced to take precious manpower from the streets to man their own headquarters to protect from threats of violence against them! Now, I'm no fan of the police but this is ridiculous! But we are, after all, a Christian Nation, eh? Way to set the example!

It may be worth mentioning that since Katrina a very large portion of the United States has learned first hand a taste of what Iraqis and Afghans experience day in day out (without the bombs, of course). But does that enter into the minds of any of these... people? Hardly. All that they can think of is, "Poor, poor me... and maybe my neighbors, too. But if I go to a different neighborhood, looting and stealing is just fine. In fact, I'll fight over what bread and water may be left on the shelf, or my place in the gas line." Is it any wonder that the world views Amerika as self-absorbed? We ARE!

There has been officially around 50 storm related deaths from this winter storm at this point. Hundreds have been injured. And thousands have visited violence upon their neighbors. While hundreds of thousands are still without basic services two weeks after the storm. Some are looking at another week to three or more.

When Hurricane Ike hit the Gulf Coast, I take it on good authority (a friend of a friend) that there were bodies floating in the streets for weeks. But do the rest of us hear of these tragedies within our own boarders? No. Why? Because they don't want us to know... that, and we don't want to hear it. If it doesn't affect me personally, I don't give a damn. That is our collective attitude!

And while Australia is burning to the ground, I can't seem to get a fire started to burn all of the tree limbs that were stripped from the trees by the ice. Irony?

A logistical note: it only took myself and two other men, two chainsaw's and a back hoe five hours to get most of the mess cleaned up and some roof damage patched (though not yet repaired). While there is still plenty to do, all of the "heavy lifting" is done. And though we are still without electricity two weeks into this crisis, it is a relief to have the tree damage cleaned up. Incidentally and on a personal note, I was operated on for cancer two days prior to this winter storm event and came down with a sever case of stomach flu three days ago, as of this writing.

And though I rain regularly on "good christians", there are definitely some good people who identify as Christians who are out here helping people and each other. Though I am hyper critical of anyone who wears their religion on their sleeve, showing me that one is a person of faith and conviction through ones deeds goes much farther with me than mere profession of faith and proselytism. I guess in other words, if you show me that you are a person of faith and moral principal as opposed to simply professing it I will respect you and your faith much more. Missouri is, after all, known as "The Show Me State".

But it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out the validity of this past statement. Plus I kind of resent when Christianity is presented as some exclusive club with exclusive rights to community, moral, and ethical behavior.

Missouri/Arkansas meet Mad Max

Heartland Heretic here, reporting live from the militarized zone that our nations Heartland and Mid-South have become. Here to give the rest of you an unfiltered, unbiased, honest assessment of this disaster stricken region.

They repeat incessantly on the local radio and television outlets of how "civil and polite" everyone has behaved since a devastating ice storm pummeled the nations mid-section. I have heard over and over again how people have banded together and assisted one another during these trying times.

But let me begin with the storm itself. On Tuesday, January 27th, 2009, a winter storm hit Oklahoma, Missouri, Arkansas, Texas, Mississippi, Tennessee, Illinois, and Kentucky with a vengance, the likes of which has not been seen since 1932. Infrastructure took the hardest beating. Miles of power poles in miles long rows all throughout the entire area were simply snapped... sometimes into three or four pieces. And of course, all of that line, if it were not snapped entirely, is lying on the ground. City and Rural water supplies were frozen at the pumps where the water originates. Well over an inch of ice coated everything everywhere. It was reported by utility companies that some of their equipment had 4 to 5 inches of ice covering them.

After three days with no water, it began to trickle again and immediately notices went out that if you have no electricity you should assume that you are under a "boil water" order. Hmmm. It's a good thing that we have all of this extra fire wood lying around! Ironically, I took measures to ensure that MY OWN water lines would not freeze. I find it puzzling that the folks who provide water didn't have the same foresight.

Trees everywhere, if they were not toppled and pulled from the ground by the roots as their weight increased threefold or more, limbs were stripped right down their sides leaving clean spires erupting from the ground in places. And the falling limbs impaled homes and home owners alike. Even a local Police Chief was struck and killed by a falling limb as he set out reflective cones around already fallen limbs and was killed instantly.

Banks, hospitals, stores, police and fire stations, rich and poor alike are all demoted to third world denizens. The scenario I have awaited for quite some time now. The only difference being that no one really realizes that they are all the same. And of course, they really aren't. Commerce and the moneyed will receive all reparations first. And ignorant rednecks will always be ignorant rednecks. And the all pervasive religious will continue to praise God for visiting upon us all "each other" with which to weather the current crisis.

Keeping in mind that The Heretic, myself, lives in a very rural setting, two of the closest service stations have had multiple fist fights and at least two pistols drawn in lines waiting to obtain gasoline. The main problem in that situation is not that stations do not have gas, it is that very few have generators to power the pumps. Hence scarcity among heathens.

Shop store shelves are bare, the ones that are open. There are no phones, batteries, heaters, dairy products, gas or kerosene heaters or cook stoves nor fuel for them. No candles, lamps or lanterns. No nothing of necessity. Nice that I thought of most all of those things ahead of time. Replenishing those supplies might be another story altogether.

I saw plenty of National Guard Troops out today. I can't really tell exactly WHAT they are here for other than to enforce the mandatory curfews put in place by local municipalities. But that doesn't prevent the rampant looting going on out in the rural areas. As many people are "all electric" and virtually none are prepared for a day without access to a vendor of some sort, let alone a week or a month, many are forced to leave their homes and seek shelter in the burgeoning impromptu shelters or to leach off of those of us who DID prepare for just such an event. While they are gone from their homes, bands of thieves are going from home to home and kicking in the doors and stealing everything that isn't nailed down.

And those of us who WERE bright enough to prepare for such a massive failing of society in general and bought electric generators and other supplies must be ever watchful of the renegades assaulting our countryside. The generators are big targets for theft, even if they don't kick in your door. And I really don't see it getting much better. My own aunt has had her electric generator stolen. She is crippled from a massive stroke and has to use a leg brace and a walker to get around. Yup, that's just how they do in the "Good Christian", all American, close knit "communities" of the mid-south.

And the best part is that the insurance companies are already trying to find ways to exclude the claims that their customers are making against damage and theft as a result of the storm and the resultant renegades. Ain't Democratic Capitalism grand? FEMA and the Office of Emergency Management have already announced that there will be no relief for individuals. Of course, BUSINESSES will receive all available considerations.

Don't get me wrong, I don't ONLY see the underbelly of Christendom at work here. The first two trips that I made to get fuel for my generators, everyone was super friendly, helpful, courteous and polite. People are trying to work together. But in other places, people are just downright hateful, selfish, greedy, and disrespectful. Some stations are rationing gasoline!

And, as always, there are those (in the majority, apparently) who feel that though this is a major inconvenience to everyone, it is affecting them personally inordinately and that they really shouldn't be expected to endure any hardship whatsoever, let alone contribute anything at all to the tasks that must be done to endure. I myself am saddled with one such leach. It is not that they cannot do anything to contribute, it is that they will not contribute in any way as it is their belief that the world owes them a living and is behind on the payments. Allowing this cretin to benefit simply from being in my proximity is my act of compassion to the rest of this morally and ethically bankrupt society.

Interestingly, local news services are starting to report "commercial looting" and home invasions five full days after the storm. And, while not reporting violence visited among citizens yet (though it is most certainly happening), they are starting to urge everyone to "keep a cool head". They are also reporting that shelters are running out of food and volunteers are getting tired. Only on this fifth day of the crisis has Missouri been declared a Federal Disaster Area. And while, of course, discussion is being exchanged about infrastructure and commerce relief, no discussion has occurred regarding home owner nor individual assistance.

As I write this piece I currently have no internet connection. The town that has my transmitter tower is without power. (I can't help wonder if I will be given a rebate of any kind for lack of services I pay regularly for. Probably not. Act of God and all... But as soon as there is any power to the transmitter I will log on and update. All that I am currently reporting will likely be "old news" by the time that my internet service provider is back on line. Though, write it I will.

Update (Three full weeks after the storm hit.)
Electricity has been restored. While Dish Network has generously offered considerations for my lack of service, my internet service provider acted as if I were being unreasonable for even asking. They were rude and combative. I will write more about that later. But for now, I'm back.

I've been diagnosed with terminal healthcare

I have been battling health care in our fine Amerikan culture again. It appears that I am losing. This comes as no surprise knowing that all life is terminal. I just hate it when the folks who are PAID to care take their fees without performing the service. I might bitch more here about it at another date, but today I am just too drained.

Just know this: if you rely on Amerikan Health Care in any way fashion or form, you are going to lose, too. The pricks actually make things worse, if ya let them.

I have not posted much for some time. I have been battling health issues. And I may just continue my "lack of posting" streak. But I will attempt to report more on my recent adventures before I am done completely.

Don't trust them. Don't even go to them. They're primary function is to make you ill and keep you coming back for yet more poison. Don't buy into it.

Good luck to us all!

Move to End "Internet Neutrality": Blow to Bloggers.

Move to End "Internet Neutrality": Blow to Bloggers.

If the cable and phone companies that transmit Internet data are allowed to charge higher rates to some producers for faster service the result will be "a ten pin strike against political freedom," a prominent legal authority warns.

That's because the change will enable the wealthy to "quickly take over the high speed transmissions (for their trash commercial content) just as they completely monopolize radio and TV, and just as their incredibly greedy profit-seeking has had a very deleterious effect on print journalism," writes Lawrence Velvel, dean of the Massachusetts School of Law at Andover.

Velvel's plea for "internet neutrality" comes in his new book "An Enemy of The People," subtitled "The Unending Battle Against Conventional Wisdom(Doukathsan)." Essentially, he writes, the proposed change is an "attempt by the wealthy to make the internet into yet another repository of their power "

Under the new scheme sought by transmission firms, Velvel writes, "large companies would pay more, no doubt a lot more, in order to have their messages, videos, audios, and any other content transmitted rapidly. The rest of us peasants, who could not afford to have our content move fast, would pay less and have it move more slowly."

"One can be sure that the average guy with something he wants to say will be relegated to lower speed transmissions," Velvel writes. "Blogdom, and the use of the internet by average people for political purposes, will likely be as good as dead."

According to Save The Internet.com(STI), "The nation's largest telephone and cable companies ---including AT&T, Verizon, Comcast and Time Warner---want to be Internet gatekeepers, deciding which Web sites go fast or slow and which won't load at all."

"What we have here," Velvel explained, "is a bunch of unregenerate capitalists, who think that nothing else is important except trying to make as much as they can conceivably get away with. As with the oil companies and the investments banks, huge profit margins and scores of millions annually for their chairmen and CEOs isn't enough for them. They want more. Always more. Nothing else matters to them. The pipes (transmission) companies are no different."

Velvel pointed out, "The average guy can't be published in a newspaper, and cannot afford the money to pay to be on radio or television. His voice is limited. The great benefit of the internet, the reason it bade fair to be the new version of the poor man's printing press (which is what picketing and marching were once called), is that it gave everyone a chance to have his or her say in a way that was immediately available to anyone who found it or knew of it and wanted to read it."

"That is why tens of millions of blogs sprang up," Velvel continued, "with (at least) many thousands of them being on political subjects, and with blogdom sometimes having major political impacts."

Others besides Velvel have also commented on efforts to destroy net neutrality. As a consequence of a 2005 decision by the Bush Federal Communications Commission, Internet Neutrality, "the foundation of the free and open internet---was put in jeopardy," STI says. "Now cable and phone company lobbyists are pushing to block legislation that would reinstate Net Neutrality."

"Without Net Neutrality, startups and entrepreneurs will be muscled out of the marketplace by big corporations that pay for a top spot on the Web," STI says.

"If Congress turns the Internet over to the telephone and cable giants, everyone who uses the Internet will be affected," STI continues. "Connecting to your office could take longer if you don't purchase your carrier's preferred applications. Sending family photos and videos could slow to a crawl. Web pages you always use for online banking, access to health care information, planning a trip, or communicating with friends and family could fall victim to pay-for-speed schemes."

STI warned the consequences of abandoning Internet Neutrality would be "devastating." "Innovation would be stifled, competition limited, and access to information restricted. Choice and the free market would be sacrificed to the interests of a few corporate executives."

So, we all need to tighten our belts?

I wonder what folks who can't afford belts need to do...

After all, when we stop eating we will need something to hold our pants up with, if we still have pants.

Oh, fuck it. The herd needs thinning out any way.

Some Folks get it

Gretchen Peters sings "Independence Day". And you won't hear me thanking Sarah Palin about much very often. So, savor this one! Thanks, Sarah.
"Politicians never hear the verse; they only hear the chorus."

My friend, songwriter Gretchen Peters, took solace in those words the night her song, "Independence Day," was used to introduce Gov. Sarah Palin to the RNC. She had just finished a performance in Ft. Worth, TX, and her song -- about a woman in a desperate situation -- had been used by a politician who didn't know what it was about, and who doesn't relate to women like Gretchen and me.

She put it best herself: "But the verse is the story. The verse is the message."

Gretchen decided to do something remarkable: she donated the proceeds she received from "Independence Day" -- from the moment Gov. Palin took the stage that day until Election Day -- to Planned Parenthood. Supporters like Gretchen -- and like you -- are the reason we have a strong, vibrant organization that helps people throughout the world. I can't ever thank you enough. http://www.ppaction.org/ct/3p_ERl71bTMI/GretchenPeters

Blagojevich arrested by federal authorities and charged with corruption

Gov. Rod R. Blagojevich (D) of Illinois was arrested by federal authorities on Tuesday morning and charged with corruption, including an allegation that he conspired to effectively sell President-elect Barack Obama's seat in the United States Senate to the highest bidder. A 76-page affidavit from the United States Attorney's office in the Northern District of Illinois says Mr. Blagojevich was heard on wiretaps over the last month planning to "sell or trade Illinois' United States Senate seat vacated by Pres-elect Barack Obama for financial and personal benefits for himself and his wife."

I realize that this is not exactly "breaking news" at this point. I am not going to try to defend the Governor. I don't really know whether he did anything or not. But as the United States Attorney's office has been appointed and anointed by the Bush Regime and purged of any who may not see things the way the Regime wants them viewed, I personally find the whole thing suspect and fascinating.

"Suspect" because at this point it should be obvious that ANYTHING that this government does is done for ulterior motives and "fascinating" because what has been obvious for years is still largely ignored and accepted by the docile sheeple.

I want to know when someone is going to grow balls and take their country back as they are doing in Greece! All those fascists had to do was kill one fifteen year old boy. How many thousands of young men are we going to allow this corrupt government kill before we get pissed? And can we really believe any charge that they bring against anyone?

I'm not saying for one moment that the Democrats aren't JUST as "in the pocket" of the banks and corporations. But I would put forward that this is just another chapter of the Rove play book in which they are trying to leave a legacy... as if they don't already have one! A really bad one.

The Future of our hellth care

No. I didn't misspell "health". I mean that all we have to look forward to is more hell... th.

I went to see my doctor a couple of days ago. They charged me the co-pay that they have largely ignored for the duration of the conservative siege on Amerikan Government. Truly, the folks that run the clinic are health service oriented democrats. Unfortunately, the only staff that they can afford to employ are inept, uncaring, insensitive boobs. But I knew something was up when they asked for that largely symbolic, ridiculously ludicrous, whopping two dollar co-pay.

Now, I have been complaining about chest pain, leg and feet pains, back pains, and every other kind of discomfort known to mankind for YEARS. In fact, I required triple bypass heart surgery a year and a half ago. I had to complain to my CONGRESSMAN to get even the VETERANS ADMINISTRATION to care for one of their fucking VETS!

But amazingly after charging the two buck co-pay that they never charge, and of course after the obligatory 2+ hour wait, I was promptly told that I likely have cancer... lymphoma to be precise. And that it has likely moved into my intestines. They promised to schedule a series of really fun tests, told me I was a tough guy and would make it just fine, and sent me on my way.

And Our Lord and Saviour, Barak Obama, has anointed one of the worst corporate pharmaceutical whores to be the HHS Secretary, Tom Daschle. I can see CDC and DHSS spending going nuts already. They now have money on the way! But don't look for health care to improve. Just look for it to be more profitable.

And don't look for me to be posting much. I'll likely be receiving toxic treatments that no one cared about giving me when it might have made a difference.
