Wondering Where the Heretic has been lately?

I seriously doubt it, but don't.

It is getting time to hunker down, stock up, arm, and barricade the homestead. Times are about to go south. The "owners", "rulers", elites, or whatever you choose to call them are about to make their move.

The "lights" will be out soon and this wonderful medium of communication will be but a memory.

How could our leaders have done a better job of it?

That's just part of the bailout money. That's not even counting the military budget, that is getting us absolutely no where, if not set back, really quick!

Thousands of Troops Are Deployed on U.S. Streets Ready to Carry Out "Crowd Control" By Naomi Wolf, AlterNet Posted on October 8, 2008 http://www.alternet .org/story/ 101958/

States' Actions to Block Voters Appear Illegal by Ian Urbina
The New York TImes
10/9/08

Tens of thousands of eligible voters in at least six swing states have been removed from the rolls or have been blocked from registering in ways that appear to violate federal law, according to a review of state records and Social Security data by The New York Times.

The actions do not seem to be coordinated by one party or the other, nor do they appear to be the result of election officials intentionally breaking rules, but are apparently the result of mistakes in the handling of the registrations and voter files as the states tried to comply with a 2002 federal law, intended to overhaul the way elections are run.

Still, because Democrats have been more aggressive at registering new voters this year, according to state election officials, any heightened screening of new applications may affect their party's supporters disproportionately. The screening or trimming of voter registration lists in the six states — Colorado, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Nevada and North Carolina — could also result in problems at the polls on Election Day: people who have been removed from the rolls are likely to show up only to be challenged by political party officials or election workers, resulting in confusion, long lines and heated tempers.

Some states allow such voters to cast provisional ballots. But they are often not counted because they require added verification.

Although much attention this year has been focused on the millions of new voters being added to the rolls by the candidacy of Senator Barack Obama, there has been far less notice given to the number of voters being dropped from those same rolls.

States have been trying to follow the Help America Vote Act of 2002 and remove the names of voters who should no longer be listed; but for every voter added to the rolls in the past two months in some states, election officials have removed two, a review of the records shows.

The six swing states seem to be in violation of federal law in two ways. Michigan and Colorado are removing voters from the rolls within 90 days of a federal election, which is not allowed except when voters die, notify the authorities that they have moved out of state, or have been declared unfit to vote.

Indiana, Nevada, North Carolina and Ohio seem to be improperly using Social Security data to verify registration applications for new voters.

In addition to the six swing states, three more states appear to be violating federal law. Alabama and Georgia seem to be improperly using Social Security information to screen registration applications from new voters. And Louisiana appears to have removed thousands of voters after the federal deadline for taking such action.

Under federal law, election officials are supposed to use the Social Security database to check a registration application only as a last resort, if no record of the applicant is found on state databases, like those for driver's licenses or identification cards.

The requirement exists because using the federal database is less reliable than the state lists, and is more likely to incorrectly flag applications as invalid. Many state officials seem to be using the Social Security lists first.

In the year ending Sept. 30, election officials in Nevada, for example, used the Social Security database more than 740,000 times to check voter files or registration applications and found more than 715,000 nonmatches, federal records show. Election officials in Georgia ran more than 1.9 million checks on voter files or voter registration applications and found more than 260,000 nonmatches.

Officials of the Social Security Administration, presented with those numbers, said they were far too high to be cases where names were not in state databases. They said the data seem to represent a violation of federal law and the contract the states signed with the agency to use the database.

Last week, after the inquiry by The Times, Michael J. Astrue, the commissioner of the Social Security Administration, alerted the Justice Department to the problem and sent letters to election officials in Alabama, Georgia, Indiana, Nevada, North Carolina and Ohio. The letters ask the officials to ensure that they are complying with federal law.

"It is absolutely essential that people entitled to register to vote are allowed to do so," Mr. Astrue said in a press release.

In three states — Colorado, Louisiana and Michigan — the number of people purged from the election rolls since Aug. 1 far exceeds the number who may have died or relocated during that period.

States may be improperly removing voters who have moved within the state, election experts said, or who are considered inactive because they have failed to vote in two consecutive federal elections. For example, major voter registration drives have been held this year in Colorado, which has also had a significant population increase since the last presidential election, but the state has recorded a net loss of nearly 100,000 voters from its rolls since 2004.

Asked about the appearance of voter law violations, Rosemary E. Rodriguez, the chairwoman of the federal Election Assistance Commission, which oversees elections, said they could present "extremely serious problems."

"The law is pretty clear about how states can use Social Security information to screen registrations and when states can purge their rolls," Ms. Rodriguez said.

Nevada officials said the large number of Social Security checks had resulted from county clerks entering Social Security numbers and driver's license numbers in the wrong fields before records were sent to the state. They could not estimate how many records might have been affected by the problem, but they said it was corrected several weeks ago.

Other states described similar problems in entering data.
Under the Help America Vote Act, all states were required to build statewide electronic voter registration lists to standardize and centralize voter records that had been kept on the local level. To prevent ineligible voters from casting a ballot, states were also required to clear the electronic lists of duplicates, people who had died or moved out of state, or who had become ineligible for other reasons.

Voting rights groups and federal election officials have raised concerns that the methods used to add or remove names vary by state and are conducted with little oversight or transparency. Many states are purging their lists for the first time and appear to be unfamiliar with the 2002 federal law.

"Just as voting machines were the major issue that came out of the 2000 presidential election and provisional ballots were the big issue from 2004, voter registration and these statewide lists will be the top concern this year," said Daniel P. Tokaji, a law professor at Ohio State University.

Voting rights groups have urged voters to check their registrations with local officials.

In Michigan, some 33,000 voters were removed from the rolls in August, a figure that is far higher than the number of deaths in the state during the same period — about 7,100 — or the number of people who moved out of the state — about 4,400, according to data from the Postal Service.

In Colorado, some 37,000 people were removed from the rolls in the three weeks after July 21. During that time, about 5,100 people moved out of the state and about 2,400 died, according to postal data and death records.

In Louisiana, at least 18,000 people were dropped from the rolls in the five weeks after July 23. Over the same period, at least 1,600 people moved out of state and at least 3,300 died.

The secretaries of state in Michigan and Colorado did not respond to requests for comment. A spokesman for the Louisiana secretary of state said that about half of the numbers of the voters removed from the rolls were people who moved within the state or who died. The remaining 11,000 or so people seem to have been removed by local officials for other reasons that were not clear, the spokesman said.

The purge estimates were calculated using data from state election officials, who produce a snapshot every month or so of the voter rolls with details about each registered voter on record, making it possible to determine how many have been removed.

The Times's methodology for calculating the purge estimates was reviewed by two voting experts, Kimball Brace, the director of Election Data Services, a Washington consulting firm that tracks voting trends, and R. Michael Alvarez, a political science professor at the California Institute of Technology.

By using the Social Security database so extensively, states are flagging extra registrations and creating extra work for local officials who are already struggling to process all the registration applications by Election Day.

"I simply don't have the staff to keep up," said Ann McFall, the supervisor of elections in Volusia County, Fla.

It takes 10 minutes to process a normal registration and up to a week to deal with a flagged one, said Ms. McFall, a Republican, adding that she was receiving 100 or so flagged registrations a week.

Usually, when state election officials check a registration and find that it does not match a database entry, they alert local election officials to contact the voter and request further proof of identification. If that is not possible, most states flag the voter file and require identification from the voter at the polling place.

In Florida, Iowa, Louisiana and South Dakota, the problem is more serious because voters are not added to the rolls until the states remove the flags.

Ms. McFall said she was angry to learn from the state recently that it was her responsibility to contact each flagged voter to clear up the discrepancies before Election Day. "This situation with voter registrations is going to land us in court," she said.

In fact, it already has.

In Michigan and Florida, rights groups are suing state officials, accusing them of being too aggressive in purging voter rolls and of preventing people from registering.

In Georgia, the Justice Department is considering legal action against the state because officials in Cobb and Cherokee Counties sent letters to hundreds of voters stating that their voter registrations had been flagged and telling them they cannot vote until they clear up the discrepancy.

On Monday, the Ohio Republican Party filed a motion in federal court against the secretary of state to get the list of all names that have been flagged by the Social Security database since Jan. 1. The motion seeks to require that any voter who does not clear up a discrepancy be required to vote using a provisional ballot.

Republicans said in the motion that it is central to American democracy that nonqualified voters be forbidden from voting.

The Ohio secretary of state, Jennifer Brunner, a Democrat, said in court papers that she believes the Republicans are seeking grounds to challenge voters and get them removed from the rolls.

Considering that in the past year the state received nearly 290,000 nonmatches, such a plan could have significant impact at the polls.

But all MSM can talk about is the appearance that ACORN could possibly have committed voter fraud!

So, if the troops, or the chemicals, don't get you, the marauders and hiway robbers will try. The roundup of "enemies of the state" is just around the corner. And you can read that as "anyone who speaks out against 'the system'" or "anyone that the system deems will try to protect themselves or their family and friends with equal or greater force".

Don't get too teary eyed. We all knew it was coming... deep down inside. Few really wanted to admit it, though. And this is understandable, while stupid.

The simple fact of the matter is, THERE IS NO SURVIVING CHRISTIANITY. It has swept into power and supported the most radical and vicious of all humanity: the greedy.

We have allowed this to happen. We deserve what we get. The medicine is hard to swallow, but it is ours to take.

Here is a list of suggestions that has been passed to me. I pass it along to you here:

Irving Silverbaum recognized as a leading world economist is warning of a severe possibility of an economic depression. The affect of what is happening in Washington will impact the average citizen in this manner: The devalued dollar is creating inflation for instance a loaf of bread cost $1.99 twelve months ago, today that same loaf of bread costs $ 3.29 and in one month it will cost $5.49. This problem is coupled by the extraordinary tightening of credit meaning that consumers will no longer have availability of credit and will have to pay cash for their purchases. Needless to say millions of people cannot afford to do this. Very few companies are prepared to assist consumers through this difficult time. The company that leads the industry in consumer savings at http://usafooddisco unts.com remains committed to assisting consumers.

Here's our "anti-ostrich" October-November plan (heeding it has no down side that I can see, esp. since 'safe beats sorry'); the full crash should be here before mid-December.

* pay off as much of the house and credit-card debts as possible as money is going to lose value and interest will rise
* absolutely no vacations or new debt;
* invest in zippers, buttons, thread, standard materials, hand-crank sewing machine so we do not have to buy cost-inflated fall-apart clothes;
* stay completely out of the stock/bonds markets (which will be further-plundered like gold teeth in death camps) and as far away from banks as possible (not that when my Social Security Disability check is cut off that I'll have any funds);
* depressions are engineered to inflate prices and reduce access, increasing profit / reducing overhead -- pillaging the ensuing scarcity, just as they are intended by "the haves";
* converse with neighbors (expanding to other neighborhoods) about "basket raids", about defending against marauders of all kinds, about defending against capital extractors (bank collection agents, bank-directed eviction police), about defending against "foreign" armies such as FEMA thugs, Blackwater (child of The Pinkerton Agency) privatized army, U.N. occupation forces, and North American Union forces;
* do not trade arms for food, which is an engineered move before sweeping resistance into FEMA's no-way-out camps; use arms to acquire capitalized/ commoditized food and distribute with neighbors;
* organize neighborhoods around "council" direct-democracy form; attach to other councils using "assemby" form; accept no self-ordained leaders or other intrusive bosses;
* implement new ways of communicating across "war zones" and "enemy territories" as the internet will be blocked or shut down; check anonymous servers, uncrackable encryption, and while the internet is still accessible; check shortwave broadcasting and "pirate" radio for after its inevitable inaccessibility;
* get the latest copy of "Anarchist Cookbook" paying cash so the purchase is less traceable;
* get to a pistol/rifle range for gun-use safety and defensive accuracy classes;
* stock up on spray (rain-proof) paint and extension poles so surveillance cameras can be nullified;
* create a crytographic language so "written" language can be deployed for difficult urban communication;
* stock up printer ink and paper, staplers and staples, so even off-internet "interventions" can be achieved; this requires "alt" power;
* check on hand-crank printers;
* build up a list of "tricks" and "sabots" regarding the current system of automated "rule";
* buy generator and fuel (preferably off the power grid, which will be malfunctioning or unavailable) , solar-rechargeable batteries, propane containers, solar-charged batteries;
* buy freezer foods (loss of power may spoil most food in there unless an off-grid power system is added), freeze-dried/ dried/canned/ bottled food, 300 gallons of water and toxin-free storage system, food dryer, food canning/jarring supplies, 4 oak (from wine companies) rain barrels (water system will be faulty, toxic, or unavailable) , water purification kits;
* buy vegetable and medicinal herb seeds, 4 fruit tree pairs (apricot, apple, peach, cherry), solar-powered vegetable watering system, 2 nut trees (hazelnut, filbert), organic fertilizers/ insecticides/ herbicides;
* buy wool blankets, 4 hazardous material ("haz-mat") suits, 4 gas-and-bacterial- level-filter "gas" masks w/extra filters, medical supplies, 2 kevlar helmets and sets of kevlar body armor, 1 shotgun (home defense) with 4 cases of shells, 2 cases of .22-long bullets for AR-7 collapsible rifle, survival and first-aid books;
* converse with neighborhood regarding a free-associative, voluntary, mutual-aid methods of assistance and sharing; accept no majority-or- minority rule substitutes for self-management;
* get a Clark/Beck "zapper" to fend off viral, fungal, and bacterial attacks (social clearcutting, aka "chemtrailing" , water additives, genetically- modified food that genetically modifies "you" especially your" organs, etc.), both from capital's agents and from the deteriorating social environment;
* find "havens", both urban and rural;
* get passports;
* get "The Paper Trip III" online from Eden Press (and, obviously the "safe" ID that it facilitates, which will be needed to escape the camp roundup and "army" road blockades);
* start using "anonymous" for as much web mail as possible, although the odds are 99.9% to 0.1% that you were "listed" long ago;
* it's a bit late for martial arts and relaxation-promotin g/anxiety- deflecting yoga, but their use can probably be shared in local "free" groups and via the newly-created neighborhood networks;

This list is dynamically the property of everyone: please better-organize it, modify it, and share, share, share. Create your new world from the soon-to-be ashes of this one.

I bid you all farewell and good luck. You're gonna need it.

It'll only take a few days to work

As Wall Street reeled and global markets plunged, President Bush on Monday said the U.S. economy is going to be "just fine" in the long run. But he cautioned that the massive rescue plan will take time to work.

The power of compassion and the teachings of a stray cat

And the truly sad part of this is that this is not only a culture within prisons of which Troy Chapman speaks. It is institutionalized within our society. No one needs, no one wants other people. It is an "us vs. them" or "me vs. the world" mentality that rules and ruins our world.

There is no other explanation as to why we as a people cannot band together to stop the few who are robbing and ruling us than this.

I don't know anything about the Chapman case, but if you're interested, you can find more information about his situation here:

The Pyramid of Capitalism

A fitting description for a mentally unstable bill

S.Amdt. 5685 to H.R. 1424 (Paul Wellstone Mental Health and Addiction Equity Act of 2007)

To see if YOUR Senators stabbed YOU in the back too, click here.

One can only surmise that this rip off of the American People is named for the psychotic and addictive behavior of those seeking and possessing wealth and power.

You can't bail out Wall Street and Main Street at the same time. Those who say it can be done are lying through their teeth.

Unions across the country have demanded an economic stimulus package; money for jobs, not war; a moratorium on home foreclosures and evictions; public works' programs to put the country back to work and to rebuild our crumbling infrastructure. Have we gotten any of that... anything LIKE that?

Insanity is when everyone regards this situation as a crisis of immense proportions when 40 million Americans lack health insurance. Not a crisis? A public education system in collapse. Not a crisis? Deteriorating infrastructure. Not a crisis? An illogical and insane war in Iraq. Not a crisis? And the list goes on. ...

If you think that this "rescue" is going to stop the arterial bleeding that has been wrought on our nation and economy by the vultures who have gleefully sold our great grandchildren to the slave holders, well, you are in need of some mental health care that this bill purports to supply. But it won't even do that.

Hell, you can't get HEALTH CARE! You expect them to care about MENTAL HEALTH?! You're fucking nuts!

Giveaway USA passes Senate

Apparently, $700 billion just wasn't enough. They had to tack on some more pork to get the Senate to lick their nuts.

Next stop, the House of Backstabbing Constituent Fuckers. I guess they'll need to add their billion or so to the debt.

New World, new government anyone?

By golly, it makes me want to curse. Heck, shucks, gosh darn sorry son of a guns!

Bill Clinton's Wealthy Friends

Bill Clinton told an audience today that everyone that he knew was worrying about the $100,000 FDIC limit to coverage. And that this is suppose to bother me. The only thing that bothers me about it is that they are all members of a club that I will never be a part of:

The People With Entirely Too Much Money

Not that $100,000 is too much money for one person to have. Personally, I think that the limit should be around $5 million. That's more than enough for any one person. If you want to insure more than the FDIC limit (which I agree should be raised to $250,000), don't depend on ME to insure it with MY money! Buy a safe and a gun. You can afford that. And you could probably get away with protecting it, with that much money on hand.

Don't get me wrong. I completely understand rich people worrying about their money. I just don't see why I should worry about it. I have to worry about the $2 in the toe of a sock in my drawer. I really don't care about OPM (Other People's Money).

They certainly don't care if I get to see a doctor, or eat, have heat in the winter, or other such trivialities.

AH HA! It's all about securing the boarders!

So, that's what it is all about! Everybody's bitching about "illegals" in the U.S. and not being able to stem the flow of immigrants crossing the boarder. Since we obviously don't have the technology, manpower, nor WILL to secure our boarders (something that virtually every industrialized nation in the world has been doing for decades), we simply make the situation in the U.S. intolerable.

Kinda' like your boss won't fire you because he doesn't want to pay unemployment, so he makes your working environment such that you will quit!

Now I get it!

Money sent home by Mexicans in US drops 12 percent
MEXICO CITY - Mexicans living in the U.S. sent home 12 percent less money in August, the largest drop on record since the Bank of Mexico began tracking remittances 12 years ago, the central bank reported on Wednesday.

After years of record gains, remittances have dropped across Latin America. In Brazil, immigration to the U.S. dropped dramatically after the real rose in value against the dollar.

In Mexico, Mexicans began sending less money home this year, economically stranding many small towns and neighborhoods that live off the stipends. The Bank of Mexico said remittances will likely continue to fall in the coming months because of the "difficult problems the U.S. economy faces."

The bank said remittances in August dropped 12 percent to US$1.9 billion. That compares to US$2.2 billion in August 2007.

Migrants living in the U.S. have sent home US$15.5 billion in the first eight months of this year, 4 percent less than the same period the year before.

A slowing U.S. economy and stepped up immigration enforcement by the U.S. government, including record deportations and increased border security, are behind the drop.

Remittances are Mexico's second-largest source of foreign income, next to oil exports.

Nearly all of it comes from the United States, home to 98 percent of Mexicans living abroad. At least 11 million Mexicans live in the United States.

The Problem with this is that it sucks for all of us. And it's likely to suck harder and longer.

Nothing New on Wall Street OR Main Street

The irony of all of this hubbub about "the market" is that it hasn't changed in centuries. It is still the same old crooks committing the same old frauds. And ordinary people are so intent on considering everyone to be "basically good" and trying to do "the right thing" that they miss the reality of it all: people AREN'T "basically good" nor trying to do "the right thing". Especially those who have anything to do with large sums of money!

Greed is universal and timeless. And until everyone gets that through their thick heads, we will continue to see corruption on the grandest scales ruining every facet of our lives, our futures, and our children's futures.

The Aristocrat

William Duer was running for his life. An enraged mob was chasing him through the streets of New York. If they caught up with him they would beat him to a pulp ... or worse. Luckily for Duer the sheriff got there first. While his pursuers cried, "We will have Mr. Duer, he has gotten our money," he was hauled off to jail, where he would spend his few remaining years. Once a man of distinction and wealth, William Duer was now ruined, left to contemplate what might have been.

The year was 1792, and Wall Street had just experienced its first crash, for which William Duer and a secret circle of New York grandees were mainly to blame. They had conspired to speculate on the bonds just issued by the newly created federal government. Soon they found themselves deeply overcommitted and forced to liquidate their holdings, causing the fledgling market to collapse and its manipulators to flee-in Duer's case to debtors' prison; for the more fortunate among them to safer havens out of state. Even though there was no formal or even informal stock exchange in those days; even though the local economy went about its business largely unaffected by the mysterious machinations of financiers, there were still plenty of ordinarypeople who suffered. Real estate prices collapsed, credit dried up, house building stopped. The general distress spread from businessmen to "shopkeepers, Widows, orphans, Butchers, Cartmen, Gardeners, market women and even the noted Bawd, Mrs. McCarty."

Is The Mainstream Media Finally Beginning To Wake Up To The Drug Czar's Lies?

My primary question is: Is the MSM waking up to anything? Actually, people make the news. MSM simply reports what they can't afford NOT to report. When ordinary people make enough noise about anything, they simply have to report it. It is, after all, news. Frankly, though, I'd like to know what is "news" about administration lies from our fascist dictatorial oligarchy.

Is The Mainstream Media Finally Beginning To Wake Up To The Drug Czar's Lies?

Dear NORML Supporter,

Drug Czar John Walters believes he can lie with impunity.

He’s wrong.

For years, mainstream media outlets have given the Drug Czar a 'free pass' to lie about cannabis. Then last week something extraordinary happened.

The media -- thanks to NORML's efforts -- finally called John Walters out!

Speaking on the cable news network C-Span, Walters recently alleged, "We didn’t arrest 800,000 marijuana users. ... That’s [a] lie." (Watch the video of Walters’ remarks here.)

The Czar’s nose grew another six inches when he uncorked this whopper: "The fact is today, people don’t go to jail for the possession of marijuana. Finding somebody in jail or prison for possession of marijuana is like finding a unicorn It doesn’t exist." (The video can be seen here.)

NORML has been working overtime to rebuff the Drug Czar's deceit, and the mainstream media is taking notice. Over the past ten days, numerous media outlets -- including Alternet.org , The Huffington Post , the Dr. Drew Pinsky show , and In These Times -- have published guest commentaries from NORML Deputy Director Paul Armentano exposing the Walter's lies and emphasizing America's addiction to marijuana law enforcement.

Most recently, Washington DC's influential political newspaper, The Hill, joined the discussion, posting NORML's essay: "How Can We Discuss Marijuana Policy When America’s Top Drug Cop Won’t Even Acknowledge The Facts?"

To date, over 140 readers have weighed in on the subject -- virtually all of them have demanded the Drug Czar either tell the truth or get out.

The Hill is providing reformers with a valuable service by bringing our message prominently to Capitol Hill, and acting as a mediator in a high profile debate with the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy. For decades the Drug Czar’s office has refused to debate spokespersons from NORML or other marijuana law reform groups, but the office will respond to criticism in The Hill, which remains the paper of record for members of Congress and their staff.

Because The Hill is widely read by lawmakers and by the national media, it is vital that we demonstrate the popularity of this issue by commenting prolifically. Please post your feedback to The Hill and make a point of disseminating this and similar essays to your friends and colleagues.

Previous posts by NORML to The Hill’s blog have received hundreds of readers’ comments — virtually all favorable toward marijuana law reform.

Editors at The Hill inform NORML that it’s the highest volume of readers’ response they’ve ever received on any commentary on any topic!

The media is getting our message; will Congress or the Drug Czar?

Thanks for your help and support,

Allen St. Pierre

An Easy Call

George Bush spoke about the Bailout, economic stimulus, or rescue package (or whatever you want to call it) this morning. He is still clearly pushing this thing forward as an imperative to shield us all against doom and social chaos.

If I have learned anything at all over the past eight years it has been this: If George Bush is for it, it is probably NOT in my own best interest.

So, without even turning a page on the proposal I can say with some degree of certainty that if George Bush is for it I should probably be against it.

I know that many of you will say, "This attitude is not helpful and offers no suggestions." To the contrary, the inherent suggestion here is 'Do not blindly follow the advice and exhortations of an individual who has repeatedly proven to you that he does not care about you or your future'.

I have heard so many politicians over the past few days say that to do nothing is not an option. This could not be farther from the truth! It would certainly not be in the best interest of the money changers and war mongers. And I see as how it could and would surely cascade down upon Main Street. But it is not as if Main Street is not already suffering the ravages visited upon them by the reckless actions of the very people who are lining up at the White House for a hand out. And perhaps a complete failure of our current banking system is EXACTLY what we need in order to begin to heal.

However, I have actually viewed the proposal. And in my opinion, it stinks. I mean, it's a real gas bomb. The son of a bitch died last month and the stench is overwhelming kind of stink!

Let me see if I can lay out this "free market" theology as it usually works, and as it should work.

If you buy gas at a particular service station and your car runs like shit until you fill it up somewhere else. And then it happens again... and again, eventually you figure out that they sell BAD GAS at that station and you quit buying your gas there.

What if every egg that you buy at a particular grocery store has the yolk already broken in every single egg? And this happens with two or more dozen eggs? You figure out that their eggs are BAD and you quit buying eggs there.

Suppose you develop gangrene in your little finger and the decision is made that it must be amputated. And let's say that the doctor was high on blow and cut off the wrong finger. Do you say, "Oops" and let that prick have another go at your hand to try and get the right finger next time? Fuck No! You sue the bastard! You try to have him thrown in jail. And you exercise every self restraint measure in your arsenal to keep from ripping the pricks' throat out and shoving it up his ass!

Now, if you can't see where I am going here, let me just take you there:

I do not have the answer as to how to fix the economy. But I can tell you how NOT to fix it.

We DO NOT GIVE A BLANK CHECK TO THE SAME FUCKING PRICKS WHO TRASHED THE ECONOMY IN THE FIRST PLACE SO THEY CAN FUCKING DO IT AGAIN ONLY WORSE! You throw the criminal bastards in jail, or at the very least out on their ear! But you certainly don't bend over and say "Give it to me again, big boy"!

This economic blackmail of "you will all lose your jobs" or "the sky is falling" is out of line and each person espousing such nonsensical rantings should be charged with terrorism! If the fucking wheels come off of the train, let's just build a better train! Oh, and find better engineers, too!

My personal Representative, (not so) Honorable Jo Ann Emerson (R-MO) voted FOR the bailout even though her office was flooded with calls to reject the proposal. And guess what... she is up for re-election this time around.

Ms Emerson, getting re-elected is questionable when you vote against the will of your voting constituents. And I will do all that I can to ensure that as many people as possible know about your traitorous treachery.

You can check the voting record of YOUR representative here.

Don't vote for a republican, a democrat, nor (especially) an incumbent in any race under any circumstances. Can anyone else actually do a worse job than the pricks that are there? Kick 'em all out!

Fire Congress! Fire Republicans! Fire Democrats! Fire 'em all... and without any pension! Try them all for treason and subversion.

Fuck 'em all! And if you don't feel this way too, then fuck you too.

Speaking of Explosions

According to the CIA World Factbook, as of July, 2005, there were approximately 6,446,131,400 people on the planet, and the death rate was approximately 8.78 deaths per 1,000 people a year. According to the nifty desktop calculator, that works out to roughly 56,597,034 people leaving us every year. That's about a 155,000 a day.

Still, more people are being born than dying. The population growth rate is hovering around 1.14%, which doesn't seem like much, but last year that was (back to the calculator!) 73,485,898 more mouths to feed. As the Factbook succinctly puts it: "For the 21st century, the continued exponential growth in science and technology raises both hopes (e.g., advances in medicine) and fears (e.g., development of even more lethal weapons of war)."

So, for every three assholes that pass away four assholes take their places. I guess that kinda takes the joy out of bidding farewell to the assholes that plague ones' life.

This simply takes all of the joy out of a good funeral!

Come on Global Warming!

Philly ballpark bomb scare

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - After a bomb scare at the Philadelphia Phillies' ballpark, authorities pointed the finger at a fuzzy green suspect - The Phillie Phanatic.

Hours before the Phillies-Atlanta Braves' game on Wednesday night, a film crew shot a commercial of the mascot shooting heavily wrapped hot dogs from a launcher.

But someone inadvertently left three of the duct taped hot dogs outside the ballpark, sparking security fears. Stadium employees were evacuated and the bomb squad was called in.

Only after the packages were blown up did authorities realize they'd just exploded some sausages.

"We saw something that looked suspicious," said Michael Stiles, Phillies senior vice president, administration and operations. "We did the right thing. It turned out to be nothing. We could have gone over and picked it up and thrown it in the trash and been done with it. But if we had been wrong, somebody might have lost an arm."

After the detonation, the game went on as scheduled.

"I'd rather them blow up some hot dogs or some ketchup and mustard and relish than have it be a real bomb," reliever Chad Durbin said. "Better safe than sorry."
So, if I am reading this right there was nothing explosive at the ballpark until the cops got there? Uh, OK. I'll sleep better tonight.

"We saw something that looked suspicious," so we fucking blew it up!

Russians, Mooses, and Witches, Oh my!

I know. The plural of moose is meese. But let's not be so formal here.

Uh, Pastor Muthee, your prayer wasn't answered. The witch is still with us.

Let the fleecing of America continue, so long as we know that we are getting screwed against our will!

TERRORISTS HAVE SEIZED THE WHITE HOUSE AND THE FED!!!!

Don't give these creeps a thing, except maybe a rope from a tall tree or a face to the wall! NO MORE CORPORATE WELFARE! In fact, start trying them for treason and terrorism under the PATRIOT ACT! That's right, use their own weapon against them! Don't think they won't do it to you! They already have!

VoteNoBailout.org

100,000 letters sent to elected officials in 24 hours opposing bailout legislation

VoteNoBailout.org was launched on September 22, 2008, in response to the Bush administration's attempt to rush Bailout legislation through Congress.

In an astonishing response to its appeal, more than 100,000 letters were sent to elected officials within the first 24 hours through the VoteNoBailout.org email advocacy mechanism. People are circulating this appeal all over the internet on web sites, blogs and between individuals.

A sample of the VoteNoBailout.org letter reads:

"Congress has no right to give the White House and its Secretary of the Treasury the power to transfer the people's money to the richest bankers in the country. Vote No to the Bailout legislation. The Bailout legislation is being rammed through Congress in a matter of days.

"This is an illegal power grab by the White House and their richest friends on Wall Street. The Legislation allows the Treasury Department to appoint the same bankers who created the crisis to administer and dictate the use of trillions of our tax dollars. It is also one of the biggest transfers of wealth from working families to the ultra-rich in the history of the United States.

"Congress should help families stay in their homes. Wealthy executives should be forced to disgorge their obscene profits, fees and bonuses that made them ultra-rich while they ran the economy into the ground."

VoteNoBailout.org was initiated as a project of ImpeachBush.org. There will be daily updates for the media about the number of people who have sent letters to Congress opposing this unprecedented handover of the people's money to the richest bankers and the assumptions of vast, new powers by the Executive Branch of government.

I heard a "viewer mail" on a MSM "news service" (yeah, right!) say that he was having to give up his weekly golf game as a result of the current crisis. My heart bleeds! I hope the prick that had the nuts to say such a thing ends up in a fucking bread line!

Capitalism has failed. Period.

I told a friend the other day, "Frankly, everywhere I look regardless of the person speaking I either hear about said hypocrisy or listen to it being propagated. I can hardly bare to watch any news or other commercial "programming". And I am getting kind of sick of reading other "johnny come lately's "jumping on the bible bashing bandwagon... like it ain't been happening in front of our very eyes for years... even decades... even centuries!

"Just five years ago any one who disagreed with "American Policy" on ANY issue was considered a "terrorist or terrorist sympathizer". All of the sudden, Bush bashing is in vogue! Shit, people have been frightened out of their WITS to disagree with religious fundamentalists! Suddenly, it's OK. But those of us who have been doing it all along are still considered nuts!

"Fukk em all! I hope they blow their selves up real good! Literally. At least there is nutritional value in roasted nuts. Baked shit is, well, it's just baked shit!"

Capitalism has failed. Period.

The present crisis is a damning indictment of capitalism. Those who preached the virtues of the free market had to swallow their words and were forced to turn to the state – namely tax-payers’ money – to bail them out. All those apologists of capitalism who said profits were a reward for risk-taking were silent as the state stepped into rescue the system from collapse. They had no money for welfare or health, but when needed, they had plenty of money to bail-out Wall Street. “It [the US government] has begun a programme of economic interventionism more typical of socialist governments in moments of utopian zeal”, commented an article in the FT. It is certainly the most extensive peacetime of government intervention in the economy since the Great Depression, which shows how dangerous the crisis has become for capitalism.

The western corporate institutions had written down $500bn-odd of credit assets in the past year. They have been forced to right-off billions of paper wealth. They also raised between $200bn and $360bn new capital to plug their depreciating assets. But they are trapped in a vicious circle, as they are unable to estimate their real losses as more and more houses are repossessed and property prices continue to collapse.

The proposed bail-out by the US government is said to be around 700bn to begin with. [emphasis mine] They are talking about buying bad debt in order to remove them from the company’s books. Something similar was done in the Savings and Loans crisis of two decades ago. However, this time, the sums are truly staggering, which will have to be picked up by the American tax payer. The plan is to create a ‘bad bank’ to take possession of all the toxic assets in the financial system. However, placing in effect bad debts in a deep freeze, will leave a massive burden over the US economy for years to come. In reality, the US government head by George Bush is promising to nationalise all the bad debts.

The failed policy of individual fire-fighting of failed companies has given way to “a comprehensive approach to relieving the stresses on our financial institutions and markets”, to quote Paulson. But what happens if this fails too? The contradictions are immense. The chaos in the financial sector is spilling over into the other sectors of the economy. The Detroit-based car industry, for instance, has itself lobbied the government for $25bn in loans and loan guarantees to allow it to function. The construction industry is already in a slump. In America and elsewhere unemployment has jumped. We are at the beginning of a new world recession which can be far deeper than anything we have witnessed in the post-war period. It is this that terrifies the strategists of capital. A new slump will mean drastic cuts in living standards and political turmoil worldwide.

As one senior Wall Street banker commented: “The crisis is far from over, the government action will buy banks some time but they will have to act decisively otherwise they will find themselves in an even worse situation in a few months’ time.” This is correct as throwing billions of dollars at the credit markets will not resolve the underlying problems. In fact, it was the excess credit that fuelled the artificial boom and all the excesses that have accompanied it – giving rise to the present crisis, the greatest credit bubble in history.

People are having to rethink their views about capitalism. There has been a shift in the public mood everywhere, a realisation that something big has gone wrong. There is anger with the bankers. There is a growing questioning. As one newspaper commented: “Social historians will record this week as one when unhappy shoppers began discussing the potential collapse of western capitalism in the same breath as butter prices.”

In a Waitrose supermarket car park in Harborne, Birmingham, Kate Organ, 53, a freelance arts manager, described her mood as “wretched and disempowered”. She expected here income, currently at £30,000 a year, to dwindle. She said: “When I was at University, the Workers’ Revolutionary Party harangued me that capitalism would collapse. Now I know what they were on about.”

In fact, we have absolutely no way of calculating exactly how much this largest welfare program of all time will end up costing. And naturally, this welfare program is specifically for the rich. And this is while 98% of the world goes homeless, hungry, and without medical care.

OK. I'm nuts. But there is plenty of shit out there.

Vote No Bailout.org

Demand that the Bailout Legislation Be Rejected

We are witnessing a bankers' coup d’etat. In the name of saving the economy from a crisis created by their own greed and immense profits, the biggest bankers have taken a country and a people hostage.

“Give us your money and tear up what’s left of your Constitution or we will sink your economy,” is the message from Wall Street and the Bush Administration. “Give us the power and money we demand or you will be left jobless from a new economic depression."

Under the pretext of the banking crisis, the Bush Administration is changing the way this country operates. This is not simply taking trillions of dollars from the people and giving it to the richest bankers to do with as they see fit.

Click here to send your letter to Congress

Congress is poised to vote to give the Executive Branch of government, and specifically the White House’s political appointees in the Treasury Department, the absolute right to take our money and give it to domestic and foreign banks and corporations without any oversight of elected officials, from the courts, or from the people.

The new legislation states: “Decisions by the Secretary [of the Treasury] pursuant to the authority of this Act are non-reviewable and committed to agency discretion, and may not be reviewed by any court of law or any administrative agency.” The Legislation allows the Treasury Department to appoint the same bankers who created the crisis to administer and dictate the use of trillions of our tax dollars.

We will not stand by and let the Bush Administration formalize its vision of a “government of, by and for the richest bankers."

The new system institutionalizes theft on a grand scale. Lehman Brothers bankers will receive $2.5 billion in bonuses after their company went bankrupt last week, but the new dictatorial authority under the White House and Treasury Department has ruled out any relief for the millions of working families who are being foreclosed.

We live in a $15 trillion annual economy. Instead of taking our tax dollars and giving it to the already rich and powerful, these funds should be used provide to decent paying jobs, affordable housing, health care and a good education for our children. There is another way!

Now is the time to hear the voice of the people. A spineless Congress authorized Bush’s illegal war in Iraq and rubber-stamped the Patriot Act. Now they are being herded like sheep again to give the White House and Wall Street dictatorial control over the people’s money.

V.P. Candidate Alexander: Fed Rescue Plan a Temporary Fix

V.P. Candidate Alexander: Fed Rescue Plan a Temporary Fix

Stewart A. Alexander
Socialist Party USA
Nominee for U.S. Vice President

September 22, 2008

At first the Bush administration said the price tag to rescue the U.S. economy would cost $500 billion and within days the price tag was revised to a whopping $700 billion; if the rescue plan is approved by Congress, working people will be in a financial black hole for $11.3 trillion (the national debt). Vice Presidential Candidate Stewart A. Alexander, says “This rescue plan is only a temporary fix for an economy with many fractures. The root cause of the U.S. economic crisis is the system, capitalism; and every 75 years a new bailout plan becomes necessary.”

This past week, Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke and U.S. Treasury Secretary Henry M. Paulson Jr. presented the bleak news regarding the U.S. economy to ranking members in Congress and the two men made clear that the U.S. economy is facing an economic crisis that could quickly spread to all areas of the globe.

Within the past two weeks, the U.S. government took the extraordinary measure to bailout the mortgage giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac; and to indicate the depth of the U.S. financial crisis, the following week the U.S. government bailed out AIG (American International Group, Inc.). Unlike Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, AIG is not directly regulated by the federal government.

With the additional $700 billion that the Bush administration is seeking from Congress, the American working class will be strapped with $1 trillion of debt to bailout the billionaires of the world with no guarantees of repayment; and no such plans for repayment have been offered to the American taxpayer.

Even if Congress approves the $700 billion that the Bush administration is now seeking from hard working Americans, Stewart Alexander believes “it would require much more; perhaps $10 trillion.” Alexander notes that the current economic crisis is now a global crisis and has spread to most of the major economies of the world.

Recently, Secretary Henry Paulson stated on Fox News Sunday, “There are no guarantees;” however, Alexander says, “With these federal bailouts there are many risk that will jeopardize the future well-being of all working people. It is likely working class people will be subject to sharp declines in their living standards, the U.S. currency will weaken further against other major currencies and inflation will further destabilize the U.S. economy. It is also likely Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid will be restructured to provide minimal benefits and services.”

Alexander says, “The $700 billion that the Bush administration is asking Congress to approve is an 11th hour plea by the Bush White House that reveals an urgent cry; not to let the U.S. economy crash on our watch.”

And what amazes me is that Bush and all his cronies are urging "swift action" in bailing out these corporate criminals, yet no one is questioning the motivation. The questions strike me, "Does anyone wonder why the rush? Are they trying to 'get one over' on the people before anyone realized just what we are being put on the hook for? Doesn't anyone realize that IF the economy recovers due to the financial intervention of the working people that the ruling elite will simply take it back away from us once it starts 'turning a profit' again?"

Are the people of the United States and the World TRULY that stupid? For the most part, yep.

Change YOU can believe in

"less taxes and more war", and "nucular" (shit, that kills me!)

Tryst turns into $50K robbery for RNC delegate
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Police are trying to find a woman who apparently drugged a Republican National Convention delegate and robbed him of about $50,000 worth of jewelry, cash and other items in his hotel room.

Gabriel Schwartz, a Denver attorney and party donor, told police he met the woman in a bar at the luxurious Hotel Ivy in downtown Minneapolis and invited her to his room early on Sept. 4, a few hours after Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin accepted the GOP vice presidential nomination.

Once there, police say, the woman made drinks and told Schwartz to get undressed.

The 29-year-old delegate told police that was the last thing he remembered. Police believe he was drugged but aren't sure what drug he was given, police Sgt. William Palmer said Tuesday.

When Schwartz awoke, the woman was gone and so were cash and belongings that included a watch he valued at $30,000.

"We have no doubt this happened," Palmer said. "The guy has been very forthcoming with us. He's been very helpful in the investigation."

The delegate gave police a detailed description, but investigators had no suspects, Palmer said. He stressed that investigators don't believe Schwartz did anything wrong.

"It's embarrassing to admit that I was a target of a crime," Schwartz said in a statement Tuesday. "I was drugged and had about $50,000 of personal items stolen."

"As a single man, I was flattered by the attention of a beautiful woman who introduced herself to me. I used poor judgment. If there is any good that can come from this humiliation, it is to caution others that date rape drugs can be used on men, too," he said.

Should we feel sorry for pricks like this? More likely, we should be very afraid that pricks like this have a VOTE and/or influence!

Too bad he only got robbed! Hope the woman gets away clean! Hope she was working with a team and they got more than just this outspoken prick.

Pricks like this have been robbing us all blind for years. And if you can't see it, or don't care, then fuck you. I realize that my glee over his misfortune makes me little better than him. THAT is the truly sad thing.

Rice: Russia becoming isolated, irrelevant

Get you a big heaping scoop of this shit for your garden! What? No garden? Better plant one. You're going to need all the food you can get!

Rice: Russia becoming isolated, irrelevant
Russia's policies are putting it on a path to isolation and irrelevance, U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said Thursday.
Russia's invasion of Georgia was a "critical moment for Russia and the world," Condoleezza Rice says.

Russia's invasion of Georgia was a "critical moment for Russia and the world," Condoleezza Rice says.

Rice also said that Moscow's other behavior, including using oil and gas as a weapon, threatening countries with nuclear attack, selling arms to rogue states and political persecution of journalists and dissidents, paints a picture of "a Russia increasingly authoritarian at home and aggressive abroad."

Hell, change a word here or there of this statement and she is speaking to a mirror!

The sad part is that these pricks don't even know how stupid and hypocritical they sound.

What Kind of Change is the "Right Change"?

In response to my recent discovery of Rightchange.com I would like to gently remind folks that we have been down this road many times and the tune is still the same as it has ever been.

War Pigs by Black Sabbath

Generals gathered in their masses
Just like witches at black masses
Evil minds that plot destruction
Sorcerers of deaths construction
In the fields the bodies burning
As the war machine keeps turning
Death and hatred to mankind
Poisoning their brainwashed minds, oh lord yeah!

Politicians hide themselves away
They only started the war
Why should they go out to fight?
They leave that role to the poor

And if anyone thinks that following EITHER of the capitalist party's in November will change anything at all, think again. You see, there is too much money in killing. Besides, it is about the only thing that mankind has ever been able to do well consistently.

Surely, deep in your gut you realize this.

What can we do? Hell, I don't know. But I DO know that voting anything but Green or Socialist will CERTAINLY bring us more of the same. And we aren't completely in the clear with them!

Don't Tase me, Dude: Tallahassee police use Taser on nude man walking a dog

Tallahassee police use Taser on nude man walking a dog
A 40-year-old man walking his dog in the nude was Tasered by police when he refused to follow an officer's commands. David McCranie of the Tallahassee Police Department said an officer on patrol spotted the man shortly after 8 p.m. Friday.

The man was asked what he was doing and told the officer, "Allah told me to watch a Bruce Willis movie and walk the dog," McCranie said.

McCranie said using the Taser was the only way to subdue the man without having to hurt him. The man was then sent for mental-health evaluation and treatment.

I can't figure out whether to laugh my ass off or cry. Yet another innocent citizen pedestrian tased for no apparent reason!

But, "Allah told me to watch a Bruce Willis movie and walk the dog"?! Fucking hilarious!!!

I'm cliff diving and pruning flowers. Playing follow the leader. Walking my zebra. Watching rocks grow. Planning a sit in and walking for inspiration. Trying to think of ridiculous reasons to be questioned by the police.

Or how about the obvious... letting my dog take a shit and a piss, unless, of course, you want me to let him do it in YOUR living room!

Allah, Bruce Willis and Taser all in the same statement!

Just remember boys and girls, Jesus died for your spins. I guess anyone using the name of "Allah", or Bruce Willis, or free speech... or just walking your dog, is deserving of the Taser. I guess they have some silly law about wearing cloths as you pick up your doggy do.

Rrrr... evolution, anyone? Oh, I forgot. "The man" was in need of "mental-health evaluation". "The Man" is, alright. Just the wrong man in this case. Probably just jealous that he was more "well endowed" than the cops!

Your Nation on White Privilege

I think that the following article is a must read for anyone who cares anything about equality and justice in our terminally "class-consciousness" retarded society. And I will have a couple of typically blasphemous statements at the end of the article.

This is Your Nation on White Privilege | Red Room
This is Your Nation on White Privilege

By Tim Wise

For those who still can’t grasp the concept of white privilege, or who are constantly looking for some easy-to-understand examples of it, perhaps this list will help.

White privilege is when you can get pregnant at seventeen like Bristol Palin and everyone is quick to insist that your life and that of your family is a personal matter, and that no one has a right to judge you or your parents, because “every family has challenges,” even as black and Latino families with similar “challenges” are regularly typified as irresponsible, pathological and arbiters of social decay.

White privilege is when you can call yourself a “fuckin’ redneck,” like Bristol Palin’s boyfriend does, and talk about how if anyone messes with you, you'll “kick their fuckin' ass,” and talk about how you like to “shoot shit” for fun, and still be viewed as a responsible, all-American boy (and a great son-in-law to be) rather than a thug.

White privilege is when you can attend four different colleges in six years like Sarah Palin did (one of which you basically failed out of, then returned to after making up some coursework at a community college), and no one questions your intelligence or commitment to achievement, whereas a person of color who did this would be viewed as unfit for college, and probably someone who only got in in the first place because of affirmative action.

White privilege is when you can claim that being mayor of a town smaller than most medium-sized colleges, and then Governor of a state with about the same number of people as the lower fifth of the island of Manhattan, makes you ready to potentially be president, and people don’t all piss on themselves with laughter, while being a black U.S. Senator, two-term state Senator, and constitutional law scholar, means you’re “untested.”

White privilege is being able to say that you support the words “under God” in the pledge of allegiance because “if it was good enough for the founding fathers, it’s good enough for me,” and not be immediately disqualified from holding office--since, after all, the pledge was written in the late 1800s and the “under God” part wasn’t added until the 1950s--while believing that reading accused criminals and terrorists their rights (because, ya know, the Constitution, which you used to teach at a prestigious law school requires it), is a dangerous and silly idea only supported by mushy liberals.

White privilege is being able to be a gun enthusiast and not make people immediately scared of you.

White privilege is being able to have a husband who was a member of an extremist political party that wants your state to secede from the Union, and whose motto was “Alaska first,” and no one questions your patriotism or that of your family, while if you're black and your spouse merely fails to come to a 9/11 memorial so she can be home with her kids on the first day of school, people immediately think she’s being disrespectful.

White privilege is being able to make fun of community organizers and the work they do--like, among other things, fight for the right of women to vote, or for civil rights, or the 8-hour workday, or an end to child labor--and people think you’re being pithy and tough, but if you merely question the experience of a small town mayor and 18-month governor with no foreign policy expertise beyond a class she took in college--you’re somehow being mean, or even sexist.

White privilege is being able to convince white women who don’t even agree with you on any substantive issue to vote for you and your running mate anyway, because all of a sudden your presence on the ticket has inspired confidence in these same white women, and made them give your party a “second look.”

White privilege is being able to fire people who didn’t support your political campaigns and not be accused of abusing your power or being a typical politician who engages in favoritism, while being black and merely knowing some folks from the old-line political machines in Chicago means you must be corrupt.

White privilege is being able to attend churches over the years whose pastors say that people who voted for John Kerry or merely criticize George W. Bush are going to hell, and that the U.S. is an explicitly Christian nation and the job of Christians is to bring Christian theological principles into government, and who bring in speakers who say the conflict in the Middle East is God’s punishment on Jews for rejecting Jesus, and everyone can still think you’re just a good church-going Christian, but if you’re black and friends with a black pastor who has noted (as have Colin Powell and the U.S. Department of Defense) that terrorist attacks are often the result of U.S. foreign policy and who talks about the history of racism and its effect on black people, you’re an extremist who probably hates America.

White privilege is not knowing what the Bush Doctrine is when asked by a reporter, and then people get angry at the reporter for asking you such a “trick question,” while being black and merely refusing to give one-word answers to the queries of Bill O’Reilly means you’re dodging the question, or trying to seem overly intellectual and nuanced.

White privilege is being able to claim your experience as a POW has anything at all to do with your fitness for president, while being black and experiencing racism is, as Sarah Palin has referred to it a “light” burden.

And finally, white privilege is the only thing that could possibly allow someone to become president when he has voted with George W. Bush 90 percent of the time, even as unemployment is skyrocketing, people are losing their homes, inflation is rising, and the U.S. is increasingly isolated from world opinion, just because white voters aren’t sure about that whole “change” thing. Ya know, it’s just too vague and ill-defined, unlike, say, four more years of the same, which is very concrete and certain…

White privilege is, in short, the problem.

All of this being acknowledged, I would like to state for the record as having "fought in the trenches" along side people of color and other poor and similarly disenfranchised peoples, that the people of privilege have similar distinctions for "lower class" whites. It is just not as readily definable as "the color of ones skin". But rest assured that they can define one within seconds, if not on sight.

One must be white, christian, and republican, aside from being demonstrably committed to the institutionalized "system" of "privilege. If one has even the slightest deviance from any of these notions (and more), one is of little more use to "them" as an aboriginal bushman or an Islamic Fundamentalist. (And I have yet to distinguish between an Islamic Fundamentalist and a Christian Fundamentalist save the fact that Christian Fundamentalists have bigger guns and bombs).

If you would like a clearer picture of how these distinctions work, read How to Make a Revolution in the United States by Peter Camejo.

The tragic news on September 13, 2008, that Peter Camejo had lost his battle with cancer is a blow to all those on the revolutionary left who have been olitically and personally influenced by him. Peter Camejo was a longtime leader of the United States Socialist Workers Party. As a leader of the Young Socialist Alliance, the youth group associated with the SWP, Camejo was a prominent activist in the student movement at the University of California in Berkeley and in the anti-Vietnam war movement. He was the presidential candidate of the SWP in 1976. He parted company with the SWP in 1980 as its politics increasingly became more sectarian.

His “How to Make a Revolution in the United States” is the abridged text of a speech delivered by Peter Camejo at an educational conference of the SWP and the YSA in New York on May 3, 1969. It is taken from the May 30, 1969 issue of The Militant. And it would serve a reader well to review this text to better understand class distinctions, why they exist and how they are perpetuated.

My point is that it makes little difference whether you are black, white, red or green. What matters is who's ass you kiss. Though I will concede that if you are white, and you kiss the right asses in the right manner, you have a marginally better chance of being "granted privilege" than you would if your skin were, shall we say, off white... and your nose is not brown with christian Kilngon's.

(A special thanks to Diane Stirling for bringing this article to my attention.)

Pakistan army ordered to hit back at U.S. forces

Pakistan army ordered to hit back at U.S. forces
The Pakistani Army has been given orders to retaliate against any unilateral strike by the Afghanistan-based U.S. troops inside the country.

Army Spokesman Maj Gen Athar Abbas confirmed the orders in a brief interview with Geo News on late Thursday night.

The decision was made on the first day of the two-day meeting of Pakistan's top military commanders to discuss the U.S. coalition's ground and air assault in Waziristan region which killed dozens of civilians.

Do ya think now that Pollyanna Piranha Palin might "blink" a time or two?

I am happy to see people around the world finally beginning to stand up to the despots besmirching the planet. Perhaps one day those whose name in which those oligarchs act will arise and say, "Enough! This is not what we are about!" Perhaps this is too much to hope for.

Sarah Palin Champions Barbaric Aerial Hunting of Wolves

Despite intense scientific, ethical and public opposition to aerial hunting, Governor Sarah Palin continues to champion this awful practice. And she proposes a bounty on the left foreleg of each wolf killed. I can see her passing similar legislation on the left forearm of all non-christians... and possibly sinners, too! Can we really afford having this kind of, um, person next in line to the most powerful position on the planet?

Hell, save time and money and simply poison the water supply. But that would be unsportsmanlike, eh? Unlike shooting defenseless animals from planes...

U.S. Should Disclose its Funding of Opposition Groups in Bolivia and Other Latin American Countries

There are MANY things that the United States should do. Not the least of which is that the people should give a shit about any of this... which most really do not. And that, my friends, is the crux of the problem.

CEPR - U.S. Should Disclose its Funding of Opposition Groups in Bolivia and Other Latin American Countries
U.S. Should Disclose its Funding of Opposition Groups in Bolivia and Other Latin American Countries
For Immediate Release: September 12, 2008

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Center for Economic and Policy Research (CEPR) called on the U.S. State Department, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), and other agencies to release information detailing whom they are funding in Bolivia -- where violent right-wing opposition groups have wreaked havoc this week in a series of shootings, beatings, ransacking of offices, and sabotage of a natural gas pipeline -- as well as in other Latin American countries including Venezuela. Recent events suggest there may be evidence for Bolivian president Evo Morales’ assertions that the U.S. Embassy is supporting groups promoting violence and seeking “autonomy” from Bolivia, and the Center called on USAID and other U.S. agencies to “come clean” in order to demonstrate the U.S. government’s good faith.

“Washington has decided to keep its ties to Bolivia’s opposition shrouded in secrecy, and that’s not conducive to trust between the U.S. and Bolivian governments,” said Mark Weisbrot, CEPR Co-Director. “If Washington has nothing to hide in terms of whom it is funding and working with in Bolivia, then it should reveal which groups those are.”

In the midst of the violence and property destruction, Bolivian president Evo Morales declared U.S. Ambassador Philip Goldberg “persona non grata” and asked him to be expelled, suggesting he is aiding organizations behind the violence and sabotage. Despite numerous requests filed under the Freedom of Information Act, the U.S. has not turned over all the names of recipient organizations of USAID funds. Bolivia is a major recipient of USAID money, with millions of dollars sent to groups there. The U.S. also funds groups in Bolivia through the National Endowment for Democracy and related organizations.

“USAID is not supposed to be a clandestine organization, but nevertheless the U.S. government refuses to divulge which groups in Bolivia are supported with U.S. tax dollars,” Weisbrot said. “By providing clandestine aid to groups that are almost certainly in the opposition, it gives the impression that the U.S. is contributing to efforts to destabilize the Bolivian government.”

The U.S. Embassy in Bolivia has been implicated in a number of events that suggest it may be seeking to undermine Morales’ government. In February of this year it was revealed that the Embassy had repeatedly asked Peace Corps volunteers and a Fulbright Scholar to spy on people inside Bolivia. USAID has an "Office of Transition Initiatives" operating in Bolivia, funneling millions of dollars of training and support to right-wing opposition regional governments and movements.

At least eight people were killed and dozens injured in violence Thursday, the latest in over a week of protests carried out by organized youth groups in conjunction with departmental governors and other opposition leaders that also saw them sabotage a natural gas pipeline, vandalize government offices, ransack the offices of a human rights organization, and threaten to cut off natural gas exports to neighboring Brazil and Argentina.

Coup plots in Bolivia and Venezuela!

The imperialist oligarchs never stop. When will we tire of their meddlesome rebel rousing?

Coup plots in Bolivia and Venezuela!
The ongoing coup attempt in Bolivia continues, and yesterday 8 peasants were killed when they were ambushed by fascist gangs of the oligarchy. In the working class area of Plan 3000 in Santa Cruz, the people repelled the fascist gangs which had attempted to enter this area to spread fear.

As a result of these provocations Evo Morales has expelled the US ambassador.

In the evening of Thursday a coup plot was uncovered in Venezuela. The people immediately gathered outside Miraflores and Chavez addressed them announcing the expulsion of the US ambassador. A mass meeting of PSUV activists and leaders took place afterwards at the Fuerte San Carlos and it was agreed to call a march for today outside Fuerte Tiuna, the city's main military barracks and mass demonstrations in all the regional capitals on Saturday.

It is time to say enough is enough. The oligarchy in Venezuela and Bolivia has shown once and again their lack of respect for the democratic will of the majority of the people.

We need to organise solidarity. Urgent meetings should take place to plan actions of solidarity around the world. There should be rallies outside of the US embassies and public assemblies to discuss the situation and coordinate further action.

The Venezuelan and Bolivian embassies around the world must contacted to help and participate in this mobilisation.

Arkansas: Fayetteville Voters To Decide “Lowest Law Enforcement Priority” Initiative

It appears that "rational thought" is invading the deep south. I'll wait to break out the champagne, though.

Fayetteville, AR: Fayetteville voters will decide this November on a municipal initiative that seeks to make marijuana law enforcement the city's "lowest priority."

Proponents of the measure, Sensible Fayetteville, gathered nearly 5,000 signatures from registered voters to place the proposal on the November ballot.

The measure would direct law enforcement to make activities related to the investigation and prosecution of adults who possess up to one ounce of cannabis their lowest priority. Local voters approved a similar 'deprioritization' measure in Eureka Springs, Arkansas in 2006.

Under state law, marijuana possession is a misdemeanor offense punishable by a $1,000 fine and up to one year in jail.

If enacted, the ordinance would also require the city clerk to submit a letter to state and federal legislators urging them to "take immediate steps to enact similar ['deprioritization'] laws."

Voters have enacted similar initiatives in Seattle, Washington; Oakland, California; Columbia, Missouri; and Denver, Colorado.

Sensible Fayetteville is a coalition of statewide organizations, including the University of Arkansas chapter of NORML and the Alliance for Drug Reform Policy in Arkansas.

Bolivia 'expels' US ambassador

We can see clearly exactly who the 'terrorists' really are.
Bolivia 'expels' US ambassador
The Bolivian president has ordered the expulsion of the US ambassador for allegedly inciting violent opposition protests.

"The ambassador of the United States is conspiring against democracy and wants Bolivia to break apart," Evo Morales said at the presidential palace in La Paz on Wednesday.

The move came as anti-government protesters in several areas ransacked government offices and seized oil facilities and three regional airports.

The announcement by Morales also came hours after an attack by protesters on a gas pipeline in the south of the country cut natural gas exports to Brazil by 10 per cent.

Gordon Duguid, a US state department spokesman in Washington, said Morales' accusations were "baseless" and that the embassy had not received any request for Philip Goldberg to leave.

Morales said he had asked his foreign minister to send a letter to the US embassy asking Goldberg to "urgently return to his country".

US bankruptcies approach 1 million

US bankruptcies approach 1 million
Submitted by Layer 8 on Thu, 08/28/2008 - 11:09am.

Scary stats from the US Court office out today: In the 12-month period ending June 30, 2008, there were nearly 1 million new bankruptcy cases filed.

Some experts predict that by year's end there could be well over 1 million bankruptcies and that's being conservative. Specifically, there were 967,831 bankruptcy cases filed, an almost 30% increase from 2007. In the business world filings were up almost 42% to 33,822 from the 23,889 reported in June 30, 2007.

Even more telling perhaps is that Chapter 7 filings - where typically the business or debtor's assets are shut down and sold off - were up almost 37% to 615,748 from the 450,332 Chapter 7 filings in the 12-month period ending June 30, 2007.

Chapter 11 and 13 filings, where business or debtors' assets are typically reorganized with the plan to repay debts were up almost 31% and 17% respectively.

The court office said that third quarter filings, the 3-month period ended June 30, 2008, totaled 276,510, the highest quarterly filings since the Judiciary's first fiscal year quarter in 2006 (December 31, 2005). So far, filings for the June quarter are the highest of any quarter in fiscal year 2008 (October 1, 2007 - September 30, 2008). First quarter filings totaled 226,413 and second quarter filings totaled 245,695, according to the court.

The US Bankruptcy Court's highest number of filings was its 6th District, which includes Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and Tennessee. The 9th District, which includes California, Arizona and Nevada had the largest percentage increase - almost 61%.

What's behind all the negativity? Experts say the reasons are many but oil prices, the housing meltdown and credit crunch are the chief problems.

And I've been calling it for almost a year here on this blog. All the while MSM and our nation's leaders have been downplaying it and outright denying it. And they still ARE! But the numbers don't lie.

Dependence upon these cretinous thugs and their monetary system based on and backed by violence, war, and slavery is beginning to trickle down into the pocket book of your "average Joe". And I am a crazy, paranoid prick who rants against the system. So be it. Keep your faith in your system and see what it gets you... a temporary reprieve from the inevitable, if you are lucky!

"This is McCain territory”

SECRET SERVICE CONFISCATES RON PAUL DELEGATES MATERIALS.
Today at the Republican Nationa Convention, as the Ron Paul Delegates were taking a picture in front of the model White House inside the Convention Center, they were surrounded by Secret Service which proceeded to search the bags of all the delegates. They took any and everything related to Ron Paul including signs, buttons, videos, slim jims, cards, even books. “this is an obvious and outrageous violation of our first amendment rights” said Nathan Hanson, attorney and Delegate from MN.

Alternate Delegate Dennis Rothacker from Florida said “We were done taking the picture when Secret Service started walking into the room and surrounded us. There were about 30 of them. When they searched my bags they took my Ron Paul sign and turned a deaf ear to my complains, they just walked away.”

Delegate Ron Warner from Fairbanks Alaska added that as he was walking into the convention center today with about 15 Revolution Manifesto books, 20 DVD’s for Delegates, 20 Ron Paul buttons and a handful of other things, we was stopped by security which called on an obviously important higher up, who directed all the materials to be confiscated. She told him, and I quote “You can’t bring that in here, this is Mc Cain territory”

Not that I am particularly a fan of Ron Paul. Still, Ron Paul supporters being treated as terrorists?!

And "...this is McCain territory"? Holy horse shit! Can you imagine our entire nation and our world being treated with this attitude? Why aren't the creeps perpetrating these acts of terrorism against American Citizens being brought to justice? Hell, they're treating us here in America with the same inhumane treatment that they have been using against the Iraqi's for over 5 years!

Oh HELL! Now I get the whole "Iraq" thing! It was PRACTICE! Practice for when they brought their fascist show back home! Sorry, I'm a little slow.

'A task that is from God'

Palin: Iraq war 'a task that is from God'
ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin told ministry students at her former church that the United States sent troops to fight in the Iraq war on a "task that is from God."

In an address last June, the Republican vice presidential candidate also urged ministry students to pray for a plan to build a $30 billion natural gas pipeline in the state, calling it "God's will."

Palin asked the students to pray for the troops in Iraq, and noted that her eldest son, Track, was expected to be deployed there.

"Our national leaders are sending them out on a task that is from God," she said. "That's what we have to make sure that we're praying for, that there is a plan and that plan is God's plan."

Ummm, some folks call that "Jihad". Maybe Sarah didn't get the memo. Dumb ass!

Democracy Now! Amy Goodman Arrested at RNC

And she is just barely "left"!

Is there still any question?

Republican Party: Business As Usual - Lie upon lie

As I write this, news is breaking that the "baby bump" on the 16 year old daughter of Governor Palin in the photo was indeed a "baby bump". The question for most of us was not that the daughter was pregnant or not. It was whether the Governor lied about her own paternity. And it is not really about paternity in either case. It is about whether the possible next VP was honest and forthright or just Dick Cheney lite.

It is difficult for me to even care about the paternity in either case. However, I am sure that this whole affair has an effect on Governor Palin's constituency, the Religious Right. (Incidentally, in my own estimation the term "Religious Right" is in and of itself an oxymoron of the greatest magnitude!)

Who among us even care one whit whether Governor Palin OR her daughter have a child, or even a child out of wedlock? I mean beside the aforementioned oxymoron.

It is painfully clear to me that both Senator McCain and Governor Palin are hypocritical liars. But then, how is that any different than any OTHER politician, lawyer, or law enforcement officer? It is not.

The most egregious issue of this whole affair, in my estimation, is not even whether these trolls lied or not. It is that they, in their hypocritical dual standard philosophy, do not even see the ere in the judgment of bringing new life into this hell whole that most refer to as "life". One or two "damned souls" to propagate the species is MORE than enough for one person/couple.

The contention that either "abstinence only" or "sex education" (which to some apparently means only "passing out condoms") are the only answers are just plain ludicrous! INFORMATION AND EDUCATION beat "taboo subjects" hands down each and every time. And anyone who suggests otherwise is morally and socially blind or simply lying.

Do I care if the VP or his/her child are gay or have children? Not at all. Do I care if they lie about it? You betcha!

You should, too.
