Audit: Bush's Billion-Dollar a Year Reading Program Beset by Favoritism, Mismanagement

WASHINGTON Sep 22, 2006 (AP)— A scorching internal review of the Bush administration's billion-dollar-a-year reading program says the Education Department ignored the law and ethical standards to steer money how it wanted.
The government audit is unsparing in its view that the Reading First program has been beset by conflicts of interest and willful mismanagement. It suggests the department broke the law by trying to dictate which curriculum schools must use.

[And rewrite history and science, no doubt!]
When will the Christian sheep realize that they are not the elite, know all, be all of the world?
I have known Bill Clinton all of my life. I grew up in AR and endured his governorship, each time. I screamed at the top of my lungs not to put him into office! And sure enough, he was wishy washy on foreign affairs because he was busy getting his knob polished in the "seat of power".
I don't fault him for that, I fault him for his choice of location and for lying...and his choice of servers for the knob job. (He could have had anyone he wanted and chose an ugly intern!) Another testament to his monumental poor judgement.
But at this juncture in history I see a Democratic ticket with Bill Clinton and John Kerry that will sweep the nation by landslide. He will balance the budget and bring us out of hostile territory that we don't need our fighting men and women in.
